This is the official City of Krum page. Krum has a small town rural atmosphere and an excellent school system - a great place for families.
If you have not filled out and returned the survey sent in the water bill this month, please take the time to answer it.
To improve pool safety, educate the public, reduce the incidents of accidental drownings and encourage our citizens to beat the heat safely, the City Council or Krum on July 1 authorized the establishment of a 1-time Pool Permit Amnesty Project. If you have an in-ground or above-ground pool that was installed before July 8, 2024, without first getting a required permit you can now take care of this for free. THIS IS A ONE-TIME OFFER.
NOTE: Does not apply to new installations on or after July 8, 2024.
HOW LONG DOES THIS FREE OFFER LAST?
* Applications will be accepted from July 8, 2024, until August 31, 2024.
WHY SHOULD I APPLY?
* You'll get a free inspection from a certified professional who can advise you on code violations that might be present with your pool.
* You will avoid future fines and/or increased permit fees that
apply when work is done without a permit.
* You will have increased peace of mind.
DOES AN INFLATABLE POOL REQUIRE A PERMIT?
* Yes, but only if it holds 24 inches of water or more and has a circulation system.
WHAT ABOUT A LARGE FOUNTAIN OR KOI POND?
* No - These features are not intended for human swimming, bathing or wading so they don't require a pool permit. Plumbing and electrical permits may be required however.
WILL THE CITY PAY FOR ANY NEEDED REPAIRS TO MY POOL?
* No This project only covers the cost of the City permit fee. You will need to make any necessary repairs yourself.
WHAT CODES APPLY? WILL I NEED TO UPGRADE MY POOL?
*The City's current standard is the 2018 International Swimming Pool and Spa Code (ICC - 2018 ISPSC) An existing pool or spa installed prior to 2021 will not be required to be upgraded to new standards so long as it has been maintained properly and meets a minimum level of safety. This is often referred to as "grandfathering".

A fine crew of Krum Fire Department and Krum Police Department volunteers, along with Summer Watson, Melynda Rivers, Nick Vincent and myself spent the morning witnessing the Krum community give so very generously to the Valley View tornado relief efforts. THANK YOU, KRUM! We received an enormous amount of donations, enough to completely fill a box trailer (which has been delivered to Valley View by Bobby Carey with Krum ISD and Nick Vincent!) and we still have most of what you see in these photos remaining for another trip tomorrow.
We will continue to received donations at city hall beginning tomorrow (Tuesday) at 9 AM. Please watch for more updates as the list of items needed are changing somewhat, and we are told that they have enough water for now.
Again, you all are AMAZING and APPRECIATED!
