As I come up on Soul Sarap’s one year anniversary tomorrow(!!!), I can’t help but take a look back and reflect on how much has happened in a year while I sip my coffee and eat this bomb bagel sandwich. I closed out this year on a good note. This week has been a doozy. It was by far the busiest week I’ve ever had. 3 food events and 2 catering drop-offs sounds insane, and it was😂 I hate being a Capricorn sometimes. I have a bad habit of putting so much on
myself and being addicted to the grind that I have to remind myself to set boundaries. I’m still learning 🤦🏾‍♀️ I ended up calling my best friend in tears because I was overwhelmed and stressed out. I’m just gonna chalk it up that I’m a crybaby and I’ve cried so much and have had so many meltdowns before pop-ups asking myself what am I even doing? Maybe Soul Sarap will never get off the ground. But man, I’m so glad that I never threw in the towel and I just kept going. I received a lot of great feedback at every event🙌🏽 last night I sold out of EVERYTHING. My heart is so full. I don’t take all the credit on my food items. Shout out to my momma for being my influence and motivating me to make the best Filipino food possible. My pops for being my Southern influence, he loved food as much as I do. And also my homies for always throwing food ideas at me and giving me feedback behind the scenes. .foodist for being there for the beginning stages. It takes a village, that’s for sure. None of this would’ve have been possible if I didn’t have them helping me with tech/social media stuff(looking at you and Nicole)
Last but not least, Daren and Alex at for taking a chance on me and allowing me to hold my first pop up last Memorial Day. I think it’s safe to say I had it more together this year than the last😂

It’s going to get better from here. I’m going to be better about pictures, I promise. Catch me at the on Tuesdays and Ataraxiaaleworks on Saturdays.

The best is yet to come.
