La Torta family — you came out in numbers yesterday! Thank you to our community. We hope to see today. The Special of the Day is the Tuna Melt Torta! - Natalia Rojas
To the La Torta Family, it is with great sadness that I announce La Torta will be closing on February 9, 2020. For 25 years, my late father (Miguel A. Rojas), my family, and I have had the pleasure of serving you. It has been a privilege to call many of you our dear friends. Thank you for all of the years of support that you have given us. We sincerely thank you for continuing to visit our restaurant even after the passing of my father. While La Torta will not be here in La Mesa, his legacy and contributions to this city will always be remembered. We hope to see you here soon to share a last memory.
With gratitude,
Natalia Rojas

Dear customers, La Torta will be closed on Sunday, September 9, 2018, from 3:00 pm to 8:30 pm. We will be hosting a Celebration of Life in memory of our founder, Miguel Rojas. We thank you for your understanding!
The founder and owner of La Torta, Miguel Rojas, loved the World Cup. Miguel would often travel to see the games and host restaurant viewings. In the spirit and mermory of our late founder, we will be showing the afternoon games at the restaurant in the coming weeks and providing specials. Stay tuned!
When Miguel Rojas was nine, he told his mom that he was going to make the best tortas in town. His mom always encouraged him, despite the hardship they faced as an immigrant family. She watched Miguel's dreams come true on October 31, 1994, the day he opened the first La Torta restaurant, and the day his daughter was born. Since then, she was always nearby eating at the restaurant or singing at La Torta after closing hours for the family. Miguel loved his mother very much and always looked to her for a source of strength. To this day, Maria Contreras is the glue that holds the family together and we all love and adore her so much. So from our big La Torta family to yours, Happy Mother's day!
