The point of exercise is to make your body stronger and fitter. Exercise is a moderate stressor on your body so you adapt to overcome the stressor more easily next time. But if you make it too stressful, it’ll take your body longer to recover, or worse you can get injured. If you combine that with a very restrictive diet, you’re setting your body up to be in a weak and stressed state. Then you’re in survival mode and less likely to see the results you want.. And more likely to burn out and quit. Your body can be trained to adapt to varying levels of intensity and different durations of workouts. So you don’t need to crush yourself with every workout.
