Probably my favorite desk to come through the shop. 1958 Italic Styling executive desk by architect Gordon Bunshaft for GF studios. Among its many features are a brushed aluminum frame, black/silver striped cabinets, and custom cherry wood top with recessed leather writing surface.
As seen on the Apple TV limited series “Lessons in Chemistry”. This is one of a set of 10 rare Thonet office chairs that were featured in several pivotal scenes in the Hastings Labs conference room. Just back from rental and now available for sale. Own a piece of Hollywood for your home!

Just uncovered a couple hidden Juhls in the Chicago burbs… and these things really are gems! These Danish American mashups were designed by Finn Juhl and produced by Baker Furniture of Grand Rapids, MI (it’s pronounced “Yewel” but I think the wordplay still plays 🤷♂️)
Herman Miller Desk #2, the Burdick Group executive desk by Bruce Burdick. 1980’s office chic at it’s best!
The first of a slew vintage Herman Miller desks that just arrived at the shop. Stay tuned for more to come!
Spotted this rare bird while perusing the marketplace last week…. Came in looking a little ruffled but now she’s looking rosey! The red aniline dye and 5-2-5 screw pattern make this LCW an early, 1940’s example produced by the Evans Products Company.
Packed the booth for this weekend. Come say “hi” and take something home. Our backs are too sore to put this all back in the truck.
This extremely rare 1939 “Dashboard Desk” by automotive designer/illustrator Count Alexis de Sakhnoffsky will be making the trip down to this year’s 20th Century Cincinnati Show this weekend. As one of only a handful still known to exist, this desk represents the pinnacle of Sakhnoffsky’s streamlined, automotive-influenced furniture designs! Don’t miss its first public appearance in several decades!
RARE mid-century/Art Moderne dresser by Italian-born designer Lorenzo (Renzo) Rutili for the Johnson Furniture Co. We have only seen two other examples; a nightstand, and a tallboy dresser that is part of Grand Rapids Public Museum's collection.
Finally figured out the history on these chandeliers so I thought I would do a follow-up post. These chandeliers were originally from the auditorium of the 1922 Detroit-Edison Service/General Office Building designed by the renowned Detroit architecture firm Smith, Hinchman & Grylls. The chandeliers were custom-designed and built by Luminaire Studios of The National X-Ray Reflector/ Curtis lighting Co. in Chicago.
Special thanks to the Historical Detroit Area Architecture FB group for unearthing the attached photos and helping in solving this mystery 🙌
Big @$$ Buick sign for that Big Buick fan! This Rare 1990’s Buick Neon Dealership sign features neon lighting, the classic 3-Shield logo and huge, 5ft diameter scale! These things were only provided to certified Buick dealers and most were returned to GM when they were replaced!
This lean green sitting machine is an original model 201 sofa by Danish designer Borge Mogensen for Fredericia Stolefabrik. We picked up this from the original owner who purchased it new, in Germany, in the early 60’s. Somehow this emerald gem has stayed relatively flawless over the years.
