Uber did not disrupt by working within the system, conventionally. It thought unconventionally, and disrupted multiple industries by working outside of it with a clean sheet of paper. We do not aim to be disruptive for disruption’s sake. But to have people own their own problems and choices and be accountable to themselves and their own health, well-being and performance.

The Hierarchy of Nutrition Here are three simple nutriton tips to help you figure out what actually works and what might work best for you.
Most of you won't read this, mainly because you would prefer the easy way out; such as quick memes and being told how and what to think...
"Behavioral economics posits that people often make decisions and judgments under uncertainty using imperfect heuristics, rather than by weighing up all of the relevant factors. Quick heuristics enable us to make rapid decisions without taking the time and mental energy to think through all the details.
Most of the time, they lead to satisfactory outcomes. However, they can bias us towards certain consistently irrational decisions that contradict what economics would tell us is the best choice. We usually don’t realize we’re using heuristics, and they’re hard to change even if we’re actively trying to be more rational."

The Availability Bias: How to Overcome a Common Cognitive Distortion We tend to judge the likelihood and significance of things based on how easily they come to mind. The more “available” a piece of information is to us, the more important it seems. The result is that we give greater weight to information we learned recently because a news article you read last n...

A Guide to Dietary Supplements: The Good, The Bad, and How To Use Them - Knew Health Most of us use supplements in one form or another in the hope that it will boost our health levels. However, before you use them for yourself, it’s important to be aware of the pros and cons of dietary supplements.
Rule #1!
Winging it isn’t going to cut it!
Before you give the excuse or complain about "not having enough time", first make sure you are not killing it or filling it:
***Mental Hygiene by Lee Thayer***
"There are two very unhygienic ways we have of “spending” our time: one is by “killing time,” and the other is by “filling time” (a variation on merely “killing time”). Unlike certain periods in human history, when survival might often have required a 24/7 kind of attentiveness to the basics of life, we moderns have the problem of what to do with ourselves when we are not at “work”—which requires less and less of our hours on earth. We deal with this in one of two ways: • Either by filling our hours and days with any activity that will serve that purpose, such as talking or watching whatever is on TV; or • By doing things that seem to “kill” the time for which we have no purpose—like playing golf or playing cards, even Solitaire."
Paradise ain’t cheap!
Apparently neither is fatherhood 🤪🥴
Resistance Training vs Aerobic Cardio Training.....
"Compared to aerobic training (AT), resistance training (RT) has received far less attention as a prescription for general health. However, RT is as effective as AT in lowering risk for cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and other diseases. There is a clear ability of RT, in contrast to AT, to promote gains, maintenance, or slow loss of skeletal muscle mass/strength. Thus, as an anti-sarcopenic exercise treatment, RT is of greater benefit than AT; given the aging of our population, this is of primary importance. In our view, a substantial barrier to greater adoption of RT is the incorrectly perceived importance of variables such as external load, intensity, and volume, leading to complex, difficult-to-follow regimes. We propose a more feasible and easier-to-adhere-to paradigm for RT that could affect how RT is viewed and adopted as a prescription for public health."

This was a pretty good one. I see this a ton with people who switch to "keto" and wonder why the scale and mirror stop changing after two weeks:

Keto Lie #9: Calories don’t count - Many find low carb or keto almost magical in the early days. As they move away from the most hyper-palatable fat+carb combo foods, they experience greater satiety, their blood sugars and insulin levels drop, and they feel great. High-fat foods can also feel satiating, but this may be simply becaus...
