Recently I went on a mom's only hike/workshop & we journaled about what self care is to us & made a commitment to make time for it.

For me, it's gardening 🌱🌵 (one of the big ones). I always make excuses for not doing it: 'I should play with the kids instead. I don't need to. I don't have time.' But I committed to doing it simply because it makes me happy. 😊 I decided to make some mother's day arrangements & sell at cost just so I could play & share my plants. Two things that bring me so much joy.

That moment when you realize you're exactly like your mom. Except you are foraging for rosette shaped 🌹 pinecones to use for your succulent arrangements and she collects oak burrs for her cactus arrangements. The nut/cone doesn't fall far from the tree 😂🌰🌲🌵🪴

When your friend picks up your son from kindergarten and brings him to the park so the 2 year old can keep napping. Thank goodness for community. 🙏

Happy 1st day of Spring!

For those of you who get discouraged and give up on your succulents:

I was sure this guy died💀but I didn't want to completely give up on him. 🤔

So I pulled him out of his pot and just placed him on top of the soil of another pot outside.🪴

🕧 It's been a few weeks and lo and behold, he's growing new roots! 😯😃🥳

Just because your succulent looks a little sad doesn't mean he's dead!

✅ It could be dormant
✅ It could need new soil
✅ It could need to be dried out
✅ It could need more sunlight
✅ It could need more water (of course that's always the last option and probably only the answer if you haven't watered it in a very long time (months - a year) or it is a very tiny pot)

If my succulents look super sad 😢, my go-to-moves are always to: put it outside, re-pot it, or pluck it out and dry/air it out like I did with this one.

Working on some Valentine's day succulents. And the kids have their own little workshop too!

It was challenging carving out just a few hours to work on these (in case you missed it I have a 1-year-old in addition to the 4-year-old now ) and the house did fall into complete chaos but I'm glad I did it to let a little fun creativity flow through me ❤️
