I tend to have grandkids that are artistic too! here is one of them… This is little Leilani, who lives with my daughter and her husband in Costa Rica!💕💕💕
I have to add a few more paintings to the right wall… but my new Woolworth’s booth is done! Paul helped me do the lights and shelves… the hardest part!
The NEWS programs are so powerful to influence the destiny of a nation.
Imagine if they chose to highlight examples of Americans getting to know “the other side”…. Sitting at tables together…. Having long deep talks. Not about personalities, but about issues and how to solve problems.
Imagine people being willing to step in to each other’s shoes and consider each other’s challenges.
Imagine them coming to agreements and working together to implement the solutions.
These things ARE happening somewhere. Imagine the news programs focusing on and distributing these stories. Imagine how they could inspire others around the country to form similar alliances. Imagine the relief and hope that would grow in our hearts.
If news organizations chose to inspire us all with these sorts of events, I would start believing that they truly cared about our country and its people.
I might even start watching the news again.
I am so excited to have a new booth at Woolworth Walk !!! Many months ago I got out of the gallery thinking that my art career was over due to a health issue. It was almost like being born again to walk in there and be shown my new space!
The management of that gallery is stellar. They genuinely care about their artists. They let me right back in and didn’t make me wait on the two year waiting list! They not only have older, more seasoned artists, but they have new fledglings in the field of art. I personally am enchanted with the ideas expressed by a fresh artist!
My booth is downstairs in the very back and it is a huge space! I can even paint there on location if I want to and be out of everyone’s way! I need to do that. Yesterday I went through it with a fine tooth comb filling in holes and sanding down the rough places and then painting it as thoroughly. It took me 5 1/2 hours, but I loved every minute of it. Now I can’t wait to put up my artwork! Another reason I love this gallery is because I have complete control over my space as far as how to arrange everything and I don’t have to be there to sell the art. This gallery is like a full-time Sawdust Festival from my past. Here’s my nakie booth… spot 221! Come see it in a week!
I LOVE this!:
"How do you feel about those things that you are giving most of your attention to? If there is something in your life that gives you negative emotion almost every time you think about it, we would do anything that we could do to get that negative thing out of our awareness."
(Abraham Hicks)
Because whatever I focus on intently grows stronger in my life... whether it's something I like... or don't like! I have to remind myself constantly to be able to recognize a problem, but then to turn quickly to the solution or a more desirable event if I want to move towards a happier outcome. My mind is SO powerful! So is yours!!
This is my latest painting. "View From the Cabin" I wanted to create a large painting that was on the simple side from what I ordinarily paint. I love paintings that can be seen from a distance and that evoke a feeling of calm. It's one of my largest... 48 inches wide.
Carolina Sunset in winter.
This was one of the first paintings I sold. It was back in 1981. I have always had an affinity for musicians.
This is a fun letterhead that I created for a woman’s interfaith group that I belong to. I love the idea that, “the hand that rocks, the cradle, rules the world!” If we women can gather together and foster respect and understanding for each other’s religious choices, we can teach that to our children to do the same.💕💕💕
I just finished this painting of the cat on the fence. I’m thinking of calling it. “Marmalade in the Marmalade “… Or “Cabin Cat “… or “Mountain Kitty“…. Or? Any other suggestions? ❤️
Here's another of my "California Hills" paintings. This is why they say to, "keep California Green AND Golden". I love the way the oak trees stand out on the almost musical, flowing hills. 🥰
Yellow Bird.... very pretty.... la la la! 🥰
I love seeing barns, big ones, little ones, red ones, brown ones... barns in good shape and barns that are crumbling... I just like all barns... but maybe especially the older barns.
My family in Minnesota had barns. I still remember riding Gypsy out in the field with my cousin Vicki on Bonnie Bell. We would gallop the horses through hay, gathering flowers in our toes. Sometimes it would start raining and we would race the horses to the barn. We'd get settled in there, all wet, but out of the rain.
I can still smell the hay, the sweat of the horses and I can hear the pounding rain on the tin roof. Man am I ever grateful to have childhood memories like this!
"Greeter's Corner"
This cafe in my home town of Laguna Beach CA is an awesome place to eat. Not only is the food good, but the view of Main Beach is fantastic. I wanted to capture the happy vibe here.
Can you see me??
"Rose at the Castle"
"She Writes"
I was recently approached by a woman who had been looking at this painting of mine for a year, wanting to buy a giclee print of it. She recently bought a hundred year old house and decided to put this one in her writing studio. I took Russian literature in college from a professor that was Russian. People tell me that this painting looks a little bit "Russian" like. My daughter Katie posed for the painting at my Mother's desk, but I made up the window and everything that is outside.
“Hi! I’m looking for your picnic while you’re out swimming!
