Shpbeds.org will change their kids lives by giving them a bed they can have for their very own. If will improve their sleep, make them more alert, and improve their day in school.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace No Kid Sleeps on the Floor in Our Town! We are a group of volunteers dedicated to building, assembling and delivering top-notch beds to children and families in need.

Our Lake City Chapter has served Columbia County and we have delivered 167 beds to children so far. We have been working to get our name out there and we know there are more kids we need to help.

We have seen a need however to help kids in Suwannee County. Unfortunately we do not have the organization to expand to cover both counties.

I am asking if there are folks in the Suwannee County area that would be interested in helping us. Please contact me if you have a group of folks who would like to get involved..

We are planning our next SHP bed buld!!! We will be building beds in support of the SHP national “Bunks Across America” bed build!!! The National goal is to build 8,000 beds!!! WOW!!!

Our bed build for our Lake City chapter is scheduled for 9/14 at the Christian Service Center, starting at 8:30am, weather permitting. The Service Center is located at 421 NW Washington Street, Lake City.

The goal is to build 20 beds!! We need your help!! You don’t need carpentry skills, just the desire to help kids in Columbia County!!!

Our Lake City chapter had a busy week with deliveries. Two delivery teams delivered 5 beds yesterday to two families and our 3rd team delivered 3 beds today!!! It was all exciting and the kids helped make the beds too.

We always end our delivery with a group prayer to give thanks!!

We held an appreciation lunch on Saturday 8/3 to thank our supporters and team members for our success!! We had a nice turn out and a good time in Fellowship!!! We could not have done what we have done without them!!! Thank you!!

Today we helped a family with 3 year old triplets!!!

We have delivered 7 beds over the past two weeks to kids in Columbia County to two different families. So we are up to 157 since we started in 2022. Because of our delivery teams we have doubled our deliveries over last year. We are planning our next bed build on 9/14. Please join us!!!

We delivered 4 beds yesterday to a family who had been homeless and recently found a place in Lake City. The kids helped us put their beds together. They were all very excited.

We delivered 3 beds today. The kids (ages 4, 8 and 10) were sleeping together on an old mattress, or with mom. The oldest boy helped us bring the beds in. A big helper!!! They were very excited !!

We want to thank the Lake City Heritage Church. Our SHP chapter was given the proceeds from their Vacation Bible School fund raising. Amazing!!! We also received a large amount of bed linen donations!!

We are continuing to make deliveries. We did 2 beds today to another family in Columbia County. Thank you to our supporters and volunteers!!!

It was a busy week for bed deliveries. We did one bed on Monday, two beds on Wednesday, 3 beds on Thursday, and 2 beds on Friday!!! Phew!!!

3 year old King Sees His Bed Young Boy is VERY Excited to see his new bed!

This family recently moved to Lake City, but they were sleeping in their car. With the help from The Worship Room, and the Christian Service Center they now have a place to live, and some room furnishings. We brought them a bed for their seven year old daughter.

We made another delivery today to help a young boy who was sleeping on the couch. We had a busy week with two deliveries for 6 beds.

It was a busy day today. We delivered 5 beds to a family. The kids had been sleeping on blankets on the floor, and they ranged in age 3-13, for 4 boys and a girl. Mom was excited and our delivery team made it a great day!!! We have another single bed delivery tomorrow!! We are making progress with our deliveries but we still have a ways to go!!! Thank you to all!!!

Our Lake City chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace would love to receive a sponsorship from a local company or organization for a future bed build. If you are interested in developing a lesson in teamwork for your employees you can help us build beds for kids in our community. Wood working experience is not necessary, but a desire to help get kids off the floor and into a bed is necessary.

Thank you to the folks who helped us in our latest bed build today. Because of some schedule conflicts we were shy some of our regular volunteers. So from our goal of 20 beds we ended up building 15 sets of headboards along with rails and slats. Great weather and hard work by all!!

Last week we delivered 5 beds to families here in Columbia County. It was an exciting week!! We are preparing for our next bed build on 5/11 to be held at the Christian Service Center, starting at 8:30am. The goal is to build 20 beds. We hope to see you there. We delivered 5 beds to two families this week!! Thank you to the delivery teams!!Sometimes we run into some very tight spaces, but we make it work!! We are making kids happy though!! We still have a backlog of 16 applications for 37 beds. Please have patience we will get it delivered!!!

We had a second week of good deliveries, finishing the week with 8 beds delivered. This helped 3 families with new beds. We still have a backlog of bed deliveries and hope to be caught up in a few weeks.

We delivered 3 more beds this week for a total chapter delivery of 7 beds. It was our best week for deliveries yet!!! The deliveries included our 100th bed delivered!!! We will be making them again next week as we have 25 applicants and 55 beds still to be delivered. Good Bless!

Today two of our delivery teams delivered a total of 4 beds. It was two single twin beds and a bunk bed. These deliveries mark our 100 bed delivery for our SHP chapter!! We started in October 2022 and have grown with having 10 bed builds totalling 166 beds!! Thank you to all who have supported us.

We had some new groups and volunteers to support us today. Florida Roof Masters and Lake City Seminole’s Club and lots of new faces.

We had our bed build today. The goal was 30 beds and we did 31!!! We had 34 volunteers and good weather!! Thanks to all!!!

We had our preparation today for tomorrow’s bed build. We bought the lumber for our goal of 30+ beds!!! We cut all the lumber so folks can start with tapping, drilling and sanding!!!

We delivered 2 more beds to close the week, for a total of 8 beds delivered. Thank you Lake City team. In our 1 1/2 year age we are approaching delivering 100 beds!!! Sorry to see but we are seeing the need in Columbia County.
