Congratulations to Lake Forest Firefighter Mike Major who graduated from Elgin Community College's Paramedic program last night. As if that wasn't enough, Mike also received this years "Unsung Hero Award" as the most selfless student in the class. Although we were not expecting the announcement, no one was surprised. Keep up the hard work, Mike!
Thanks to FF Dovel for representing LFFD at the Libertyville Days Festival Rib Cook Off! Although we didnβt win the rib contest this year, our very own Summer Yarc won Little Miss Libertyville π π Congratulations, Summer! πΈ
We had a wonderful weekend representing the Lake Forest Fire Department at the 25th Annual First Responders Expo at Gurnee Mills. On Friday, Engine 4211 was part of the es**rt on I-94 that welcomed the 9/11 mobile exhibit. The Expo kicked off on Saturday morning with the National Anthem, a beautiful rendition performed by our own Firefighter Sam Hiller. The day was gorgeous and the turnout from agencies and attendees was incredible. We can't wait until next year!

The Lake Forest Fire Department was lucky enough to be chosen by Fox Chicago for a cooking segment earlier today. Our own award winning chef, Nick Dovel, was our featured star. He, along with Natalie Bomke, prepared chicken parm smashburgers. If you'd like the recipe, tune in to Fox Chicago next Thursday, April 11th in the 8:00a hour.
