It's Santa, but we're gonna make it Orange County! I'm doing SURFING SANTA VW Bus photos at the beach!!!!!!!!!

I'm so excited for this because I've been wanting to do this for so long!!!! So I hope you all love it and are excited about it too!

The decor will be changing from the "traditional" holiday decor that I normally use (except for the VW Bus and my rad surfboard) to be more beachy..... think a palm tree with ornaments, maybe some beach balls, and packages wrapped in Hawaiian Christmas

Please keep in mind:

1) Mini sessions are for NUCLEAR families ONLY, not extended families. If you need something with your extended family, please reach out and we can discuss your options.

2) During the fall, my turnaround time for your galleries is 2-3 weeks. I try to turn them around as quickly as possible. If you are someone who always orders your holiday cards, on or around Black Friday, please plan accordingly and do not book a session that is the week before Thanksgiving.

I recently had the mom of a Class of 2024 grad tell me she had been waiting to schedule her daughter's session for when she got her cap & gown from the school......

Here's what I've found out over the last few years photographing grads, and some thoughts on scheduling:

College grads will get their gear a month before graduation and should schedule their sessions as soon as possible after they receive their gear. The closer to graduation, the more crowded campus becomes with other grads, their photographers and their hype squads..... its chaos!!! And everyone is looking to use the same "campus iconic" backdrops.

High school grads probably won't get their gear until a day or two before graduation. And that week is jam packed with school activities, ceremony practice, time with friends, etc., so also not an ideal time to do their session.

This is why I purchased caps and gowns for your grad to wear during their session.... I have white, navy blue, black and red. All you have to do is let me know which color I should bring to your session!!!

I am so excited about the opportunity to offer these sessions because they are so diverse -- they can work for families, as a mommy and me (or daddy and me) or just the kiddos. And they are so fun because we can do things we can't necessarily do in outdoor locations!

I love this distraction free, "clean" background that makes the perfect backdrop to capture your family and kiddos! And your "fur babies" are welcome!

Session Fee: $350 Session Fee includes a 20 minute session, online gallery of the edited images in Black and White, and your choice of 5 images to download for printing and sharing online. Additional images are $35 each, or $350 for all the edited images. Color edits can be done for $25 per image.

Its not often I post an "unedited" photo..... this one has been edited, except for the photoshop work to remove all the people from the background..... I love this beach, and more importantly, my clients love this beach. It just has a special energy that is normally peaceful and calm.

Unfortunately, this past fall, it was pure and utter chaos..... I think the day this image was taken, there were at least 10 photographers there!! It's overwhelming for both clients and photographers, and creates so much additional editing work to remove all those background distractions.

I'm posting about it now, to let you know I'll be shooting a majority of my beach sessions this fall at a different beach in Laguna..... especially any weekend sessions. I may do some week day sessions here, but those will be very limited.

Happy Valentine's Day Lovebugs!!!!

Fun fact....... my husband and I met when Spring semester at Cal State Fullerton started at the beginning of February 2021. We had Business Ethics 301 together and we knew of each other from our mutual time in the aquatics program at our community college a couple of years prior.

So we started talking, he'd walk me to my next class and he told me later that he really wanted to ask me out for Valentine's Day. But I complained about how much I absolutely hated the day that it scared him off 🤣

So our "First Date-aversary" is February 16th ❤ which is a much better day to celebrate anyway.

My house is overwhelming me...... it was bothering me towards the end of last year but I was too busy to worry about it. Now that things are semi-calm, I am trying to go through one room a week to clean out the closests, the cupboards, the drawers, all of which seem to be bursting at the seams. You don't want to wait to book your senior session... and let me tell you why.

The last few weeks of school is jammed packed with studying, finals, extra curricular events, dances, and other special "senior year" events. It's A LOT to manage and keep up with.

You don't want to "squeeze in" your senior session.... you don't want to be so busy you don't enjoy or savor a moment that's all about you.

Also, factor in that it will take me about 2 weeks to edit your images after your session and you'll want them in time to mail out with your grad announements.

What's the saying when it comes to parenthood?

"The days are long, but the years are short."

Last night, we put the kids to bed.... and they were making noise long after it was past the "lights out" time. Instead of telling them to quiet down, I sat in my room next door and listened. I heard random singing, arm farts and giggles. I laughed to myself as I evesdropped on their "goodnight" routine with each other. Eventually they quieted down on their own and fell asleep.

The years are short for them too. Their days sharing a room are numbered as my oldest enters his teen years, so they need this time too, forging those special brother bonds, making memories together, on their own.... and as a mom, I can only hope and pray, those bonds are forged strong enough to last a lifetime.
