This family’s lake home kitchen looks effortlessly inviting and chic now, but it actually went through a HUGE renovation and significant layout reconfiguration to get here! It involved a complete demolition, knocking down walls, adding walls and raising floors just to name a few changes.

Now this young family gets to cook and dine in style and maximized the view of the lake (and their boat!) right outside their windows!

These shou sugi ban log ends are such a mood- together they make this wall a large piece of beautiful, custom art.

Shou sugi ban/ Yakisugi is a Japanese technique where wood is torched, and in doing so makes preserves the wood and makes it insect and waterproof. It also boldens the grain of the wood!
