To be invited inside their magical forest restaurant was such a gift and a beautiful wonder.
We are so lucky to have Lauren from sunbeamsourdoughbakery and her fam in Our Village School. She is so talented! We just picked up our organic pumpkin-shaped sourdough loaf and soup night now has an extra special flare!
If you are local to Lakeville, check out her site for all the sourdough goodies.

This was the “science room” this week ❤️✏️
Soaking in the beauty of nature, one moment at a time.
So proud of these two! Check out this clip today on Kare 11 where Chef Sarah talks about her role at Our Village School and whips up some veggies & a bev. We are so lucky to have her!
Personal chef turns international curriculum into cookbook Sarah Lang teaches kids at Our Village School in Lakeville about other cultures and countries by whipping up dishes that are native to that country.

Attention all south of the river families…there’s a new gem in town! Visited Niche Books in Lakeville and instantly fell in love 😍
The owner, Ashley, was SO kind and patient as this gaggle of homeschoolers excitedly tore through her shelves. Yay for indie bookstores 🙌.
Young artists in action: A class of budding sketchers captures the beauty of nature by the lakeside.
“My guy draws/paints OVS pictures everyday! Thank you for making such an amazing school, Maria! It’s made such a difference in our lives! ☀️ 🌲”
Totally brightened my day today! Artwork from the sweetest kiddo of him and his buddies in the woods at OVS. ❤️

Age is just a number when it comes to morning hugs. Pure sweetness captured in one moment….12 year old saying good morning to 5 year old 🥰.
This semester I turned over the planning for our family book party to two great kids (to be fair, one is my own 🥰). I spent some time with them this afternoon workshopping ideas and just love their passion for books and attention to detail. It’s a big undertaking to plan an event for 150+ people and they are all over it. OVSers get excited for this fun event in May!
BTW our community is reading The Bookwanderers by Anna James and it is a gem. It’s set in a cozy bookshop in London….what more do you need?
Our shop teacher, who happens to be my husband as well 🥰, repurposed this fencing piece that was destined for the dumpster into our brand-new Village Farmstand. Looking forward to seeing the farmer’s market goods these aspiring young entrepreneurs bring to sell.
This winter, our community delved into “Until the Streetlights Come On” by Ginny Yurich, a fantastic read I 💯 recommend!
In a delightful coincidence, my 11-year-old recently stumbled upon an article from my Tinkergarten days while “Googling mom” 😂. She was absolutely thrilled to share one of my quotes from the article with me ❤️.
A heartfelt thank you to 1000 Hours Outside for amplifying the message about the importance of outdoor play!
Tiny architect, mighty fortress builder! ❄️⛄️
Snowy start to our spring semester today! ❄️☃️
In our community, we have a special tradition during our fall season. Just before Thanksgiving, we gather for our last cooking class and prepare Stone Soup just like the villagers do in the beloved fable. Cooking the soup outdoors over an open fire adds a cozy touch, especially on those chilly November days.
Now you can get your Stone Soup fix from Chef Neal in March! Link in the comments ⬇️
1st Day! Nothing like returning to “school” in The Great Outdoors 🍃
Grateful for this community and all the smiling faces today. It’s going to be the best season!
