Lakeville South students find their rhythm through the music of steel pans
Over the past six weeks, through the guidance of Pan Outreach’s founder and director, Jeremy Kunkel, and Lakeville South percussion instructor, Matt Clark, Lakeville South students have had the opportunity to learn how to play an assortment of steel pans. “It has been so much fun seeing the over 250 musicians at Lakeville South experience this new instrument and genre of music,” said Chad Bieniek, Lakeville South band teacher and director. Lakeville South students also got to practice and preform with David Yundi from Trinidad and Tobago, where the steel pan was created.
