Ever stumble upon something so good you just HAVE to share it?
A great recipe … A cool life hack … A must-watch Netflix series… A time-wasting (but adorable) puppy video …
These are all worthy of a share, right?!
The same goes for two new services I’m offering at Natural Balance Massage – Personalized Hypnotherapy Recordings and 1:1 Mindset Coaching.
But first, let me backup a bit.
You might just know me as a licensed massage therapist, but I’ve been reading and learning about mind/body connection for the last 15 years.
When the world flipped on its head and I had to close my office for four months due to COVID, I found myself in a very stressed-out and anxiety-ridden state.
I turned to my coach to help me out of it using the same mindset techniques I’d been learning about.
After my experience with this mindset work, I quickly realized I wanted to share it with others.
That realization kickstarted a new path of undergoing several trainings over the last two years.
I'm excited to share these two additional offerings at Natural Balance Massage + Coaching.

A sincere thank you to all of my clients for your support during this roller coaster of a year.
My business would not have survived without you.
I hope everyone has a safe and fun night!
Cheers to 2021!
What will you do today to fill YOUR cup?
For your courage, dedication and the many sacrifices you and your families have made.
Sunny and 70 today! Take some time for yourself to get outside and connect with nature. Try walking barefoot in the grass to ground yourself to the earth and ease some stress from the past week.
Today marks one year in Lakeville!
Thank you to my amazing clients, family and friends for all of your support during this roller coaster of a year.
First day seeing clients since March! I am excited to be back to work and if you can’t tell there is a smile under that mask.
Remember to fill out the COVID questionnaire before your appointment and bring a mask.
Welcome back!!
Good morning!
I hope everyone is able to get out and appreciate this sunny day! We will be enjoying it on our deck now that the wind has calmed down.
As many of you are aware, the executive orders have been extended to May 18th.
Prior to that announcement, I made the decision to cancel all clients on the schedule for May and will not be re-scheduling or booking new appointments until I have a concrete opening date.
I will make that call based on the governors orders, professional association recommendations and the data that comes in from other states opening now.
Once I have a date set, I will reach out a week in advance to the clients I had to cancel in April and May and to those that have sent emails requesting appointments.
Your safety and well being means everything to me so I will take this time to stay informed and implement protocols that will be necessary to safely open my practice.
I look forward to seeing you again!
It has now been 30 days since I have been able to work. While this is not what I had envisioned for the last two months of transitioning my practice from SLP to Lakeville, I realize the importance of doing my part social distancing.
Bright side is I get to spend my days with this little nugget.
I am missing each one of my clients and hope everyone is staying healthy!
* IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT *
Governor Walz has just extended executive order 20-04 and 20-08 until May 1st, which includes massage therapists.
This means I am unable to see clients until then.
If you have a session booked, I will be reaching out tomorrow to get you scheduled for May.
Gift cards are also available for purchase online at www.naturalbalancemassagemn.com/rates for future use.
We will all get through this together!
We are living in a time of uncertainty and many businesses have had to temporarily shut their doors not knowing when they will be able to open again.
Wondering how you can help a business during this time?
Write a glowing review on Google or Facebook about your experience. When we are all able to do what we love again, these reviews will help get the word out and bring in new business.
Thank you all for your support!
In light of recent recommendations from the Governor and the Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals, I have made the extremely tough decision to close my practice beginning at 6pm tomorrow through the end of March. The safety and health of my clients is very important to me and since social distancing is not an option with my work, I feel this is the best decision for all.
I will be reaching out to each client tomorrow that is already scheduled to re-book for April.
I wish everyone health during these next few weeks.
Please see my post from earlier today for self care tips.
I would like to take this time to address the coronavirus pandemic as it relates to my office.
My office will remain open for as long as it remains safe to do so. Since this is ever changing, I will keep informed with the recommendations from WHO, CDC, President, Governor, National Board of Massage and implement any changes necessary.
I will communicate any changes to my office hours or clients with appointments currently scheduled.
If you are currently on my schedule please postpone your appointment if:
* you are feeling unwell. Particularly, if you have a sore throat, fever or cough.
* you have been in close contact with someone who is ill.
* you have or been in contact with someone who has traveled to a high risk area.
* you are part of a high risk population.
I will be waiving cancellations fees until the end of April and will be cancelling appointments if I begin to feel unwell.
HOW AM I KEEPING MY SPACE SAFE?
By continuing to follow universal health procedures and being extra diligent during this time. This includes:
* Washing up to my elbows before and after each session.
* At my Lakeville location, I am able to wash my hands when the session ends before I leave the treatment room.
* Disinfecting oil bottles, surfaces in treatment room, door handles, light switches, stylus, iPad after each client.
* Face cradles will be layered with a disposable cover and a linen cover, both changed after each client.
* Linens are changed after each client and cleaned with a local laundry service.
During these times of uncertainty it is very important to take care of our bodies and minds. If a massage is not an option for you right now, below are a few suggestions to incorporate in your day.
* 5-15 min daily meditation.
* 5-10 min deep breathing exercises.
* Self massage with a lacrosse or tennis ball.
* Stretching 2-3 times per day.
* Applying ice to areas that feel painful and warm.
* Applying heat to areas that feel tense and stiff.
Please reach out to me with any questions or concerns.
The one thing that's made a huge difference in my day-to-day stress relief has been this little .
I carry a LOT of my stress and anxiety in my jaw, and I have the TMJ pain to show for it! When I realized just how much strain I was putting on that part of my body, I decided to add "unclench my jaw" to the times I check in with how I'm feeling throughout the day.
Not only has it made me feel better physically, but the simple action of loosening my jaw mucles also kicks in a relaxation response. After all, if my jaw is relaxed, I can't possibly be stressed, right? 😋 But it really does help; it's the body-mind connection at work.
Where do you carry your tension: your jaw, shoulders, back? Screenshot a reminder for your phone home screen; print one out for your desk, or add it to your check-in routine. Let us know if you do so and how it works out for you! ✌️

Thank you to everyone that came out today to see my new space! It was great meeting so many chamber members and I look forward to getting to know all of you!

Mindful Breathing Meditation (5 Minutes) Feel more settled and calm by spending a few minutes focused on your breathing. A 5-minute Mindful Breathing mindfulness meditation created by Stop, Breathe ...
Lets be honest, drinking plain water all the time can be a bit boring.
A great way to change it up is to squeeze 1/2 of a lemon into an 8oz glass of cold or warm water. Lemon water is high in vitamin C, aids digestion (helps constipation), freshens breath and some research as shown that it can help prevent kidney stones.
Another option is to squeeze fresh lemon juice into ice cube trays, freeze and drop a few into your glass.
Comment below and let me know your favorite flavoring to add to water.
If you have never meditated before or if you have tried and stopped, I would suggest starting daily for 5-10 minutes. At the beginning stages consistency is very important. Practicing for 5 min every day rather than 15-20 min sporadically will serve you better.
For the next week, make the commitment to meditate daily for 5 minutes and make note of any changes that come up.
I will be taking on this challenge, comment or like if you will too.
