Todays, "Pray for someone, daily, challenge" report:

End of day stopped into the store for dinner to take home. Checked out and started toward the exit when i saw a familiar face a lane or three down.
Since the time we attended church together his long hair had become a gray, in sharp contrast not only to his dark complexion, but more to the fact he is far younger than i.
Still a gentle fuant in stature, he was smiling and looked somehow more at ease than the struggling young man i had known.
He was bagging groceries and I waited for him to finish and i waived, "hello Dennis"!
He looked up surprised, "well, hi Evan".
"How are you? It's good to see you".
His smile broadened "Im fine".
Understanding he should probably get back to it, i wished him "Merry Christmas".

That could have been it ... but i only took a few strides and thought "no no, this is for a reason".
I stopped, shifted by bags to my left, about faced, then stepped back to his station.
I could see he was excitedly speaking to young lady working the register next to him. As i approached, i overheard him say with a childlike glee "...and he recognized me"!
People, i tear up now even thinking about it ... how incredibly humbling.
I just told him it was on my heart to pray for him and he was excited for me to do so. I held his hand in my right. The prayer was somerhing about the light that shines now like at no other time of the year and how it would shine even from him, 'blessing those he loved... in Jesus name".

I heard loud and clear tonight... never underestimate how much it may mean to someone, that you ... yes, just YOU ... acknowledge them, that you are proud to have given them a place in your story.
