Awakening Angels is dedicated to funding biomedical research, educational initiatives, and social programs aimed at improving the quality of life for children and adults who are affected by Down syndrome, ensuring that they have the tools they need to thrive.

Happy ! 💛 Founded in 2012, Awakening Angels was created with a mission to improve the quality of life for individuals affected by Down syndrome, Autism, and developmental disabilities. The organization was founded in honor of Mikey George who was born with Down syndrome. Mikey is our greatest inspiration within the organization. Mikey was a conduit for us to reach other families in the special needs community; he passed away in 2019 after a very difficult battle with leukemia. We will always grieve this immense loss.

As we attempt to continue Mikey's legacy, we have created a mission to help fund biomedical research, educational initiatives, and social programs aimed at transforming the lives of children and adults with Down syndrome, Autism, and developmental disabilities. This type of involvement requires a great deal of funding, which is why this Giving Tuesday, we ask you to please consider Awakening Angels when you are making your charitable contributions.
