West End Tavern
A fixture in Lakewood's west end for 38 years, The West End Tavern is a comfortable, neighborhood ba
The weatherman said it's going to be 🥵 984° out today so GET IN HERE and have an ice cold, frosty, refreshing pour! 🍺
Looky who's back behind the bar TODAY from 3-8pm!
We're working to feature a lot of history of & the city. We want to hear your most memorable moment at West End — Or tell us in person tonight at the bar... doors are open!
Thanks to all that came for a GREAT re-open last night!!! We heard from many of you last night, now we want to hear from the rest of you.
🌮🌮 If you could have one dish added to the menu, old fave or new, tell us in the comments!
COME SAY HELLO! Join us TODAY for our soft re-launch of West End Tavern! Doors open at 4pm and we'll have a new dinner menu for you to try out as well.
We know you'll ask us about the classic dishes, so allow us to preempt you here. Tonight's menu is new for you all to taste and try, but we are also listening to you lovers of the sizzling mushrooms, bubble bread, quesadillas, etc. Just bear with us a bit with the transition and we might just bring back a few of the classics once we're up and running on full cylinders ;)
Hi everyone, as one chapter ends, another begins— but remember that it’s all part of one great story!
As the new owners, we are carrying forward the legacy of West End Tavern that was started by John, Bob, and Parnell 38 years ago, almost to the day.
While we are going to make some upgrades, know that we are doing so tastefully and in a manner that will not only keep the tradition of this great tavern, but honor the deep history of it.
West End, which we ourselves have frequented many times over the past few decades, isn't going anywhere! You'll still see many of the familiar faces in the tavern.
We will re-open the doors this Tuesday at 4pm and we invite you all back in to join us in this 'soft re-launch' of West End. We're working on an exciting new menu as well.
As for our infamous brunch and bloody mary bar — that WILL be back. Temporarily, while we work on all the little but many behind-the-scenes tasks of this transition, brunch will pause— but only briefly! We'll keep you updated on that right here.
So, come in this Tuesday and meet us (and if you've ever been to All Saints Public House — you likely already know us!), grab a beverage and maybe a bite from the new menu.
We look forward to meeting you and to another 38 years of serving Lakewood and the surrounding neighborhoods!

On June 1, 1986, three ambitious guys who went to school together at Miami U and found home on Cleveland's West Side, took possession of an old run down saloon in Lakewood and began restoring it to what was once an elegant grandeur. Two weeks later, their journey began with the Grand Opening date, June 15, 1986. And on May 31, 2024, the journey had gone full circle and came to an end. Much has happened over the years. We began a robust Sunday Brunch which has grown ubiquitous in the present Sunday morning scene. We started a "Create your Own" Bloody Mary Bar that lasted a decade before a few other establishments adopted it as well and after a couple bartenders took the idea with them to Chicago's Lincoln Park bar scene, it remained a relatively unknown phenomena but soon spread across the nation. A few generations of folks came to cut their teeth here along the way. The fun and excitement seemed to want to last into perpetuity, and it shall. The one thing that stands out most though that will warm our hearts the most is knowing that there were at least seventy five couples who met here, fell in love and got married. We are most flattered with that , at least we got that part right! We shall miss you more than you'll ever know but our gratefulness and thanks are supreme. We enjoyed thirty eight years of unbelievably talented and dedicated staffs a business could ever know. And we are especially thankful for Chef Rubin Little's dedication. Chef Little held the House together and his talented skills were especially visible on Sunday Brunch. A new group is working hard to put a fresh shine on the walls and bar top. They are a talented group and you should expect the Good Times to Roll. So, we are signing out and extending our love and heartfelt thank yous to you all. We shall all remain together in our our hearts and the bonds of the West End Tavern.
With deepest love and sincerity and heavy hearts, we bid you fond Adieu.

The June swoon.............June, a month of graduations and weddings...........we've elected to place our Sunday Brunch into hiatus mode for the coming few weeks, actually beginning last Sunday and continuing. BTW.............The West End Tavern began it's run the first of June, 1986 with two weeks of intensive remodeling and marking it's official opening on June 15, 1986, a very brief 38 years ago. Last Saturday, the Cavs delivered a win in the first game of the NBA Playoffs. It"s exactly one week later at the same time of day. The Cavs go at it again tonight. They have a quality team very much capable of going all the way this year. This past season they've displayed all the talents of a Champion NBA team.
