So grateful for these 2! Not only are they genuine, beautiful people, but I don’t know how I would run my law practice without them. They keep me on track and are wonderful with our clients. I’m so blessed (and less stressed)!

My client, may he rest in peace, wanted to donate his books to local libraries and the contents of his house to Habitat for Humanity. Thanks to these wonderful folks from Habitat, his furniture and other things are being taken to their North Randall store, where they have a great need for items right now. I think that would make him very happy and proud.

So proud of Cleveland this weekend! Everything done for the Final Four has been well done, and the energy, excitement and pride is palpable. Bravo!

It’s Adoption Monday! What a wonderful gift for this family. It’s so nice to be back in court. Zoom adoptions aren’t quite as special as being in person.

I’m hiring! I’m looking for a part-time front desk receptionist for my law firm in Birdtown.  I need someone to man the front desk 15 to 20 hours a week. It’s a fun place to work, and my clients are fantastic! This is a great opportunity for someone who loves working with the public and providing excellent customer service. Tasks include greeting visitors, answering the phone, returning calls, email correspondence, scanning, witnessing for client signings, preparing enclosure letters, data entry, printing documents for signings and court filings, etc. The pay range is $15-$18 an hour, depending upon experience. Adoption Tuesday! I can’t think of a better Valentines Day for this beautiful family. Judge Walther’s adoption hearings are always special, something the child will remember forever.

THIS. An important read from the Washington Post. So glad the Respect for Marriage Act has passed the House and Senate! Federal recognition of same-sex marriage is a wonderful and important step. BUT... This Act doesn't solve everything if the US Supreme Court overturns Obergefell. Ohio still has a Super DOMA in its Constitution. If Obergefell is overturned, gay couples may not be able to marry in Ohio. And without Obergefell’s protections, "officials in some states could again refuse to recognize the parental authority of two moms or two dads." Actually, that's already a possibility in Ohio. Birth certificates may not be enough.
