Saying goodbye to summer from the Jersey shore. I’ll miss the long and warm days and the sunshine. What will you miss most?
After a year of intensive studies I’ve done it. I am a certified psychedelic therapist. As recent FDA decisions have shown us, not enough people are truly educated about the risks and benefits of psychedelic medicines. These are powerful tools to enhance therapy for a range of conditions. Being guided by the right provider is so important. Stay safe out there. And congratulations to my fellow graduates of. IPI Cohort 5!! ❤️🍄
Do you take the time to think about what you are grateful for each day. Whether it's a simple "thank you" to a friend or partner, or a formal gratitude practice, recognizing what we have in our lives can be very healing. Today I am grateful for vacations, sunshine and pets 🐈 -- things that bring me joy. What are you grateful for? Please share in the comments below.🥰
As children, we are taught to spirit off parts of ourselves that are not acceptable -- these inner children are sometimes so deeply buried that it's hard to fathom that we have them, and that they come with gifts. Take a moment to connect inwardly. What is your inner child yearning for? Connection, support, play, rest, joy? If we listen deeply we can learn to reclaim these parts of ourselves, leading to healing and wholeness.
May all people know freedom. Celebrating Emancipation Day!
Some fun facts about the full moon this Summer solstice it’s a great time for manifesting. The pink moon is associated with feminine energy and passion. It can bring positive changes in terms of love.
Hi everyone! Just checking to see if anyone else may be interested in this year's women's retreat. Beautiful retreat center close to the beach. If so, please connect and I am happy to share the agenda.
People often ask if it is important to formally integrate p$ychedelic journeys or if for example therapy is all that is needed. While there are benefits to therapy as an integration tool, there are also benefits of more active integration activities such as:
*Spending time in nature
*Mindful walks
*Meditation & prayer
*Gentle stretching
*Journaling
*Collage
Whether your journey has been as part of a therapeutic experience or as a retreat, please reach out to talk more.
I recently read this quote in a book I’m reading. It resonated strongly with me and I hope it will with you too. We all have wounding and we can use those to learn life lessons. Nameste ❤️
Why psychedelic medicines in mental health? Many dis-orders are connected not only to mind, but also body and spirit. Psychedelic medicines unlock the potential for healing on all levels. If you are feeling stuck in traditional therapy it's worth exploring how these medicines can support you.
Today sharing an affirmation to inspire you: be kind to others, but most of all to yourself. While self-love may sometimes be difficult it's important to healing and recovery. -lovejourney
Looking forward to sharing more about KAP and eating disorders at the upcoming Renfrew Center foundation conference. It's a remarkable approach that has helped many people who would otherwise still be struggling. This year's conference is online, so we're recording soon. While I won't get to "see" any of you there, hoping to share the knowledge I've built in my time at IPI and working with clients.
June 14 is right around the corner. Psychedelic medicines are at the cutting edge of mental health treatment. As providers we are often faced with the task of helping clients to integrate their psychedelic experiences. This workshop will help support you in learning more about psychedelic integration and will allow you to participate in some experiential exercises using
SoulCollage (R) a great integration tool. Please email if interested. We do have some space. CEs are available. The workshops a recording. Hope to see you there!
This Memorial Day we honor those who have served in our military, and who we have lost. I'd also like to honor the invisible ones who came home and suffered -- depression, addiction, mental illness and PTSD. The wounds and losses are not always visible. Take some time to offer a gratitude today to those who have served and the family members who support them.
Happy Saturday everyone! Sharing some inspiration for anyone who could benefit. ❤️
It was an honor to present at the MEDA conference this Thursday. Our message: that in order to heal eating disorders you must work on the underlying trauma(s) on all levels: the thoughts, emotions and especially the ways that trauma is stuck in the body. Participants moved with us, and were moved by the experiences of the clients we work with. Thank you to those that attended.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms of quirky kids out there.
Today is Trans Day of Visibility!! 🏳️⚧️ It’s a day to celebrate the contributions of trans people and to bring our attention to injustices of all kinds. Please share this or your own supportive post.
Think medicine journeys are all bliss and joy? Think again. By choosing sacred medicines such as p$silcybin, ayahuasca and others you are providing the plant permission to help you to heal. This may mean that difficult situations that are part of your history or lineage may come up for the purpose of process/release. We may encounter this material directly or symbolically. If you encounter something you don’t quite understand, move towards it and even welcome it if you can. This includes difficult body sensations and feelings as well. Be curious about why it’s part of your journey, and if you don’t know, it’s ok to ask.
Integration with a trained therapist or facilitator can help you to further make sense of and process what comes up in a medicine session.
Want to talk more? Please reach out. It would be my honor to share my experience and support you.
Did you know about the link between eating addictions and other types of addictive behaviors? People with eating disorders are more likely to also have difficulty with other addictive behaviors such as alcohol, shopping, codependency. These may serve the same, or different, functions than the eating disorder symptoms. The likelihood of this is even greater at midlife.
There are few programs that can treat dual addictions. Often people seek help and support in outpatient therapy.
If you are stuck in a shame spiral, please know that you are not alone. You deserve caring, compassionate support. We can help. Please reach out.

This final day of 2024 highlights the importance of healing in community. Sharing your healing journey can help inspire others along their own paths, and also can help you. If you are feeling alone, sad, and as if there’s no one out there, think again. There are others who share your journey.
If you are a woman at midlife and struggling with, or in recovery from, an eating disorder, please consider joining our Facebook community. This space is one of love, safety and support. All are welcome, whether traditionally “midlife,” a little older or a mature younger person.

Today on 2024 we highlight the importance of treatment. Eating disorders can't be addressed through a diet, or through an injectable but only through doing the deep work. This is especially important in cases where eating disorders have been longstanding. Some of my favorite treatment approaches include EMDR, which can address attachment and body traumas, and somatic approaches such as dance/movement or psychedelic work.
Interested in learning more? Please reach out.
The Academy for Eating Disorders defines "advocacy" as taking action for or against a cause or position. Today during 2024 we are highlighting the need for advocacy. Advocacy can be large or small, such as lobbying for passages of laws that allow for changes in policy or being aware of and fighting against diet culture. The latter is something we can each day every day.
Gloria Steinem is one of the greatest advocates of this century, and has tirelessly fought for women’s rights. I love this quote, which shows something each of us can do.
Today is Day 3 of 2024. Today's spotlight is "Research Matters." While eating disorders ARE treatable, they are less researched than other serious mental and physical illnesses. We need to change this and focus on what works. Later today I'll post about an area of research showing promise. Stay tuned!
Welcome to Day 2 of ! Today’s theme is “Those Affected Matter.” Eating disorders affect people of all ages, races, genders, sexes, sexual orientations and body types. You can’t tell by looking at someone whether they have an eating disorder. Most people show only subtle signs of these difficult illnesses.
If you thought eating disorders affected only young, white women think again.
This year on join us in spreading the message. There is hope in treatment.

Welcome to my practice
The greatest gift that I can give to my clients is the ability to recognize their own strengths. No matter how you may struggle, we will work together in an atmosphere of acceptance and kindness. I see change every day, whether it is in a client who enters a new and healthy relationship, who returns to school, or who stops a negative pattern of behavior.
Therapy involves many components: learning the reasons why problems exist, expressing feelings about situations, learning new skills, and finding answers. We will achieve these goals in a way that is active but comfortable. I am also open to holistic approaches and mind-body healing.
In addition to being a clinical psychologist, I am a Certified Eating Disorders Specialist, which designates expertise in treating eating disorders. I am also trained in EMDR, an effective method for treating posttraumatic stress disorder and am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. My practice is LGBTQ+ welcoming and affirming.
