A little about Helene...

“My interest in holistic healing spans many decades. Thirty years ago, I was exploring macrobiotic diets, homeopathy, and the benefits of exercise and yoga. I entered the healing profession in 1999 as a registered nurse in oncology and hospice. While these areas challenged me emotionally and professionally, my experiences allowed me to truly learn the meaning of empathy and become more spiritually connected. Most importantly, it taught me just how comforting and meaningful the touch of a hand can be for someone who is suffering, in pain, or going through the dying process.

In 2006, I decided to go back to hospital nursing. I was fortunate to be part of a team that embraced the holistic components of Reiki, aromatherapy, music therapy, massage, and guided imagery. After taking my Reiki I training and sharing Reiki with patients, I was so impressed that something so simple and easy to learn had such dramatic effects in promoting relaxation, which in turn allowed the healing process to take place. My patients were more relaxed, their pain was often reduced or relieved, and in some cases, they went home earlier than anticipated.
Reiki also helped me to learn about caring for myself. Before learning about Reiki, I had struggled my entire life with anxiety, depression, and an overwhelming fear of public speaking. In my Reiki journey, I’ve learned that I can maintain a calm mind and an open heart with consistent daily meditation and self-Reiki practice. I remember the first time I had to do a presentation, and the fear inside me was gone. It was a strange feeling, almost like something was missing, but incredibly freeing at the same time.” -

It's not snake oil. It's not a placebo. And if the thought of sitting still makes your back ache, & silence puts you a little bit on edge, you're perfectly normal. More men statistically practice meditation regularly than women. The effects are tremendous- we see a literal physical increase in the thickness of the prefrontal cortex where cognitive function is housed. Biomarkers for inflammation levels begin to lower and that's happening right along with a decrease in pro-inflammatory cytokines throughout the body. On average there is an average decrease in systolic blood pressure by 4-5 mmHg.
Slow down to speed up, and don't worry about wearing the right clothes or not knowing where to put your coffee mug. When you join us for meditation class you'll be guided with actual moments of breathing & then a break. No one's going to let you fall asleep on the floor because we've got stuff to talk about. You will learn some skills that you can take with you to practice later & the next class you come to will be different and just as unassuming.
The truth is that the thought of coming to a space to meditate seems awkward for many many people. It is something new & there's not a lot of things going on to distract us. One of the largest barriers to coming in is the actual doing, the fear that we may be moving too much, we may have a squeaky shoe, we may get extremely bored, or we might start sneezing. Perhaps we don't have meditation pants? Well guess what, you can meditate in anything you like including your Wrangler jeans. It is always by donation. Everyone should have equal access to learn skills, deepen self-awareness, improve their mental physical and spiritual health and possibly meet others that will just with a smile benefit their lives. No one needs to earn this & everyone already deserves it.
Join us for any of our meditation classes that are always 100% by donation. Our certified instructors passionately love what they do and they ensure that the time we spend together is open for all walks of life.

Taking time to breathe can be a gift, it can be boring, it can be powerful, can be soothing, can be tiring, open up emotions, can open curiosity, can be so many things. If you have not tried a meditation practice give yourself 5 minutes daily. Allow yourself to truly discover what meditation can offer you. Remember that everyone can do it- there is no "right way" and that consistency is key.
In the photo above, guides a group through meditation outdoors . There was noise, distraction, minds were not quiet, and yet there was a beautiful moment where all in presence felt the energy of the morning with their breath- a pause to experience the park and the people joyfully & eagerly starting their day.
Join Saturday morning 8-8:40 am or Sunday evenings 7-7:30 pm virtually.
Meditation is also on Friday mornings 6:30-7:15 and Sunday mornings 8-8:45 am .love .

Connection can be very powerful. , "The intricate labyrinth that is the human psyche has been a topic of fascination for many great thinkers, drawing the attention of figures such as Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung.

Both sought to map out the territories of the mind, but it was Carl Jung who delved into a realm that transcends personal experience. At the crossroads between individuality and universality, the collective unconscious emerges."
Can you think about a time that you have been with a group of people in a space and felt an energy that was undeniably enhanced due to the togetherness? Have you been in a group meditation or prayer and perhaps experienced a palatable emotion permeating throughout the room? Even when this is not 100% focused on a spiritual activity, we can experience this during times of togetherness with a focus such as a concert, sporting event, and moments of passionate expression. Although there is much more exploration we have available to dive into concerning a collective consciousness, it is undeniable the power that we have to impact one another on a spiritual and psychological level. Never underestimate the positive impact that you may have on someone else. Perhaps we can begin to become more comfortable with incorporating one another as a part of our active growth and journeys.
