Beyond Mobility: Wheelchairs Enable Engagement and Quality of Life in Developing Regions - PASS When I started coming to Belize and Guatemala 1980, I saw people with disabilities that were crawling around on the ground or stuck in bed. That kind of tore my heart out. Just prior to returning to the States from Guatemala in the summer of 1988, I saw a woman, for the second time, crawling across....
rehab team in Wonosobo this week facilitating a workshop on assistive technology which includes fitting 25 children w special needs.
Our rehabilitation team is in Lviv, Ukraine this week working with Califorina Association to Aid Ukraine (CAAU) fitting children’s complex rehab wheelchairs along with active wheelchairs for Ukrainian soldiers with Spinal cord injures.
Our rehab team just returned from Ethiopia where we fitted 199 wheelchairs ~ mostly complex rehab CP chairs. The ocean container was consigned to ESMAAfrica in Hawassa. The country director Argaw & his wife Rachel started Ebenezer Grace Children Home 10 years ago. A wonderful couple that met at a missionary college in Holland. They now have 87 children in 4 different homes, many which were abandon. These homes are managed by profession staff mothers and care providers. We used their main facility warehouse in Hawassa as the staging logistics area for the seating & training clinics. later in the week, our team traveled 4 hours south to the city of S**o where we fitted 45 chairs. Then we drove to a city called Shashamane where we worked at a catholic convalescent home. On our last day in Addis we did 7 home visits. A priceless journey in serving people w disability in Ethiopia. We plan on returning soon & need to raise $12,700 dollars for the shipping container. If you are able~Please step up & donate to lock in shipping dates for Ethiopia.

Dear Friend,
As 2018 comes to a close, we want to thank you for your generous support this year.
This year, Global Mobility delivered and custom fit almost 3,500 complex rehabilitation wheelchairs to some of the most severely disabled people around the world, most of them children.
This year, the Global Mobility mission made its way to Vietnam, Mexico (Zacatecas, Guadalajara, Chihuahua, Oaxaca, Tijuana, Mexico), Indonesia, Nicaragua, The Dominican Republic, The West Bank, Kenya, Guatemala, Haiti, Jordan, Mongolia, China, Nigeria, The Philippines, Zimbabwe, Honduras, and El Salvador. We also deliver many custom-built wheelchairs at home to Shriner's Children’s hospital.
While the true value of the wheelchairs we delivered range from $2,000-$5,000 per chair, all our recipients received their new wheel chairs at $0 personal cost. THIS is due 100% to you and people like you who continue to support Global Mobility and our mission of serving ‘the forgotten of the forgotten’.
You can still make a difference and donate today.

Rafa age 8 from YAPENAS children’s special school in Sleman, Indonesia arrived at OHANA to get his first wheelchair, prior to being fitted for his chair we places Rafa into R82 Pony Gait trainer (PT equipment). Rafa was running & flying around and did not want to get out, tears of joy from all who witness this, as this was his first time he was completely independent.
Another remarkable day at Perkumpulan Ohana where the rehabilation technicians fitted wheelchairs to recipients from Banyumas, Indonesia. The Bus departed Banyumas @ 4am for the 5 hour drive to the OHANA Yogyakarta rehab facility. A long day but absolutely rewarding for all.
Thank you .com for the wheelchairs and the seating systems.
A great day at Perkumpulan Ohana, we had a full bus that drove 4 hours from Semarang to Yogyakarta. The OHANA & Semarang rehab team custom fitted wheelchairs to men, woman and children. Some individuals took a hour plus to customize their complex rehab chair. The photos below will show the smiles, the joy and the absolute selflessness of good work. Priceless!
Suwanto (Swan Swen) age 38 from Semarang, Indonesia contracted polio when he was 8 months old. Swan and three comrades drove 4 hours from Semarang to Perkumpulan OHANA in Yogyakarta. They are here for 5 days attending the OHANA in service training workshop. Today the team built a Beeline Bumblebee active wheelchair. After they finished building the chair and to Swan’s surprise the chair was given to him. They added a crutch holder to the base so Swan can velcro his crutches on while pushing. He and friends are going to a tourist area this evening in Yogyakarta called Malioboro where he will ride around in the recently built assessable downtown Marioboro district in Yogyakarta. Tomorrow we have a wheelchair seating clinic for men, woman and children from Semarang that will be fitted into their new wheelchair.

Thank you FedEx for donating shipping and helping us get these much needed wheelchairs to Children and Paralympic athletes in the West Bank!
Thanks everyone who donated to Global Mobility so far this year! If you haven't yet, we still need your help to change lives for kids with disabilities in Tijuana! We are currently raising $35,000 so that we can make our 2018 Tijuana Wheelchair Seating Clinic a reality. Like last year’s successful inaugural clinic, this year’s clinic will once again be held at the Hospital Infantil de las Californias on August 18th, just over the California border, and we look forward to providing new wheelchairs for at least 100 children from all over Baja California. But we can’t do it without your donations!
Donate today and you’ll have a direct, profound impact on these children. Your monetary gift will help them get the mobility they need to live happier, healthier, more fulfilled lives. Thank you for your support!
