Loc Central Natural Hair Care Center is a Maryland based natural hair salon. Our primary focus is the health and growth of natural hair and locs. We are in the process of expanding our business and are seeking to hire two Natural Hair Stylists or Locticians to help us achieve that.

We are seeking creative professionals who can be team players and are able to work in a fast paced environment while delivering outstanding customer service and providing high quality hair treatments and services. We provide on the job training to enhance everyone’s technique so that we all maintain the same level of work ethic, creativity, and hair care maintenance. You must be willing to learn new styling techniques and methods to promote healthy hair growth. We are seeking both part time and full time stylists!

Job Description Summary
The individual must be knowledgeable in natural hair, transitioning hair, and locs.
In order to qualify, applicants must be able to conduct the minimum requirements which include:
Performing consultations;
Shampooing, Conditioning and/or blow drying;
Performing hair treatments;
Maintaining locs & styling;
Create flat twist / cornrow updos; and
Two strand twists.

Tasks/Responsibilities:
Responsible for maintaining their clients healthy hair and creating fresh and unique hair designs that best suit them. You must be able to:
Emphasize product benefits and assist clients in the selection of retail products or services for their hair care needs;
Prepare hair for styling by analyzing hair condition;
Shampooing and treating hair;
Apply & suggest hair care treatments & routines;
Plan hair designs;
Study facial features to determine appropriate style for customers.
Examine potential styles;
Confer with the customer;
Make recommendations;
Maintain quality service by following organization standards;
Maintain safe and healthy conditions by following shop policies, sanitation standards and legal regulations;
Obtain revenue by recording or collecting charges;
Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing publications;
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed;
Maintain a consistent relationship with clients in order to maintain customer retention.
Proactively seek and secure new customers;
Attend and participate in continuing education and training in order to stay current with new trends and techniques;
Work quickly and accurately under pressure;
Maintain a well-stocked kit of hair tools, equipment and products; and
Must be punctual and have superior customer service skills.

Minimum Requirements:
Must be reliable and punctual;
Articulate and able to communicate well with clients;
Great customer service skills and a friendly, positive attitude;
Must be detail oriented and able to manage competing priorities and multiple deadlines in a fast paced environment;
Ability to adapt to organizational and environmental changes;
Must be flexible to working days, early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays;
Team Player;
On the job training; and
Must be at least 18 years of age.

Skills/Qualifications: Listening, Supply Management, Analyzing Information , Customer Focus, Client Relationships, Organization, Creativity, Attention to Detail, Confidentiality, Professionalism, and Verbal Communication
