Little Free Library #131654 in Lansdowne, PA, sharing cards, letter writing supplies, and postcards.
Many thanks to postcarder extraordinaire and neighbor for these lovely Ansel Adams postcards and matching stamps portraying scenes of our beautiful country! I've refreshed the supply of other cards as well for those who are making it a long weekend and planning to do some writing.
With school (finally) out and the first heat wave of the summer this week, it's a great time to send some mail! Melissa sent these absolutely delightful animal (and also fruit and space) postcards a couple of months ago and I've been saving them for a dry spell since they're too big for the protective cellophane envelopes I usually put cards in. And has been decluttering her stationery, to the benefit of the Little Free Mailbox. She sent some fun extras along with a bunch of new cards. Thanks so much to both of you!
Photographed yesterday when there wasn't a cloud in the sky, Father's Day cards from and postcards from (plus new coloring cards and other miscellaneous)!
I spent some time during yesterday's rainy afternoon making envelopes out of some of the calendar pages I collected from neighbors at the end of 2023. These matched the morning pretty perfectly!
I've gotten inexcusably behind in acknowledging folks that have shared cards for the Little Free Mailbox (I'm perpetually guilty of thinking that next weekend will be less busy, and then it never is), so I apologize that this is belated.
First, for Star Wars Day, sent a handful of Star Wars cards which I saved for the occasion. I even gave up a C-3PO stamp for the besties one!
assembled some kits with a variety of postcards, vintage stamps, and stickers, which are perfect if you're feeling creative!
And finally, for those who celebrate, both and shared Mother's Day cards and I added some coloring cards as well.
Thanks so much to all of you!
Thank you so much to the mystery donor who addressed the postcard shortage during a busy week when I have been neglecting the Little Free Mailbox! I've been so grateful to all the mail aficionados, near and far, who have contributed to this project and made it so much better than I could have done alone. And I promise I'll get the other new donations out before too long!
Once again, the Little Free Mailbox has run out of postcards and I am behind in adding recent donations. I will rectify both shortly, but in the meantime, here is the annual cherry blossom photo!
I suspect of being the one who left these USPS hummingbird cards and stamps (as well as some of the new flower ones) for the Little Free Mailbox. She reminded me to get the hummingbird feeder ready for this year and that I am behind in ordering new stamps!
Thank you so much to for sharing these encouraging cards, super cute postcards, and some of her own stickers. She is also carrying our her own mobile version of a Little Free Mailbox project, leaving little mail kits in public places for strangers to find!
Happy Friday! It's a beautiful sunny morning so come and get your cards now before the rain starts later on. These and more Easter and spring cards from Melissa, and are in the Little Free Mailbox, along with some new coloring cards.
Thank you so much to for sharing this beautiful handmade card with the Little Free Mailbox! She says the technique is called iris paper folding, which I had never heard of before. The little dog looks just like the one that lives across the street too!
What's the difference between an alligator and a crocodile? One will see you later and the other will see you after a while!
Thank you to who sent the Little Free Mailbox an excellent selection of various cards with equally excellent vintage postage stamps, including these particularly fantastic alligator (crocodile?) cards--with green stamps, of course! I've also been replenishing the postcards from a generous supply shared by Today's addition are these women artist cards.
Thank you so very much to for making these fantastic playing card collages for the Little Free Mailbox! These are all so individual and creative, each with a different theme around one or more postage stamps. One of them would make such a great extra surprise in a card to a special friend, who could then use it as a bookmark or just a tiny piece of art to admire.
I've emerged from a few weeks of sickness and general gloom to give the Little Free Mailbox some much needed attention. Melissa sent a big selection of these gorgeous flower cards and matching stamps with the hope that they'd bring spring along with them. Not quite yet, but it was a beautiful warm sunny day today and there's lots of green starting to appear so it's getting very close! I also added some new postcards and coloring cards and started turning the annual wall calendar donations into envelopes. A couple of others have sent special things for the LFM in the last week, so I'll be sharing those soon too!
Best wishes for a healthy, happy, and prosperous Year of the Dragon. Lots of dragon cards (with the new dragon stamps, of course) are in the Little Free Mailbox today!
Stop by this weekend for some Valentines for the kiddos to send! I added colorable cards and envelopes, perfect for a kid to personalize and send to an out of town loved one. Also in the mailbox are some Valentines for classroom celebrations, very kindly shared by and Thanks to you both!
A day late for National Send a Card to a Friend Day, I added a pile of Valentine cards to the Little Free Mailbox. These beautiful letterpress cards from and would be particularly nice for a special someone!
I've been very lax at posting lately, but have started adding Valentines to the Little Free Mailbox, beginning with these sentiments from a weirder time!
Happy New Year! Anyone have a resolution to keep in better touch with out of town friends and family in 2024? I sent a lot of postcards last year but didn't write a single letter, so I'd like to write at least a few of them this winter. These snowy animal cards were purchased from .mona.studio at the end of 2022, and have finally made their way into the Little Free Mailbox (minus a bunny card that I used myself!).
Thank you notes for Christmas gifts are on my agenda for this gloomy afternoon. Maybe you have some to write was well?
There are still a few more days left to send Kwanzaa cards! I added a couple of these USPS cards from a few years ago and also some letter sets to the almost empty Little Free Mailbox. More new stuff coming tomorrow!
Thank you for the assortment of salty and sweet Christmas cards that she shared with the Little Free Mailbox. Looks like this Sunday is going to be inside weather and perfect for card writing!
I added a variety of winter and Christmas cards and postcards to the Little Free Mailbox over the weekend, including a bunch of these Christmas gnome (or nisse or tomte!) postcards. I'll be continuing to put out more new holiday cards this week!
Hanukkah cards are now in the Little Free Mailbox. There will be Christmas cards as well before the Gladstone tree lighting this evening!
Scrapbook paper is the next best thing to calendars for envelope making. I've been slowly working my way through some clearance sale finds and hand me downs from neighbors' craft supply cleanouts. Over two years into maintaining the Little Free Mailbox and I have yet to actually purchase an envelope!
is way too creative for the USPS and sometimes his creations appear to have taken a circuitous route to arrive. The mail gremlins must have known that the coloring card section of the Little Free Mailbox was empty, though! These will be in the mailbox as soon as I get the envelopes stamped, either tonight or first thing tomorrow.
Stop by the Little Free Mailbox on your way around the neighborhood tonight. We have stickers and candy and a few remaining Halloween cards!
Wall calendars make the best envelopes of any material that I've tried so far and I'm still working my way through the 2022 calendars that I collected from neighbors at the beginning of the year. These recycled envelopes (with writing paper inside, of course) have been one of the mainstays of the Little Free Mailbox since I started it. It's always satisfying to gather up something that would be otherwise thrown away and offer it back in stationery form!
Halloween stuff is now in the mailbox! There are several different kinds of greeting cards and a whole bunch of (somewhat weird) vintage reprint postcards. And if Halloween isn't your thing there are new stationery sets and coloring postcards as well.
Happy World Postcard Day Eve! Like everything else in my life at the moment I was late putting these out in the mailbox and then late posting a picture, but tomorrow (or anytime next week, really) would be a perfect time to write a few postcards for the occasion. Thank you to Melissa for sending an assortment of 2023 World Postcard Day designs. I also had a few cards left that and had shared previously, so there are a nice selection to choose from.
