Black veterans have never been truly acknowledged. They were never recognized when they came home for their service, and so it's my mission to make sure we thank them and give them their time to be heard.

WWII veteran secures long-denied military benefits, honors World War II veteran Early Jones received his benefits and honors at a ceremony Thursday, after being denied them decades prior.

Really excited about this. Many of you know Judge Mathis from TV, but not everyone knows he was born and raised in Detroit and what he overcame. Proud to have his endorsement, and looking forward to working with him to deliver for the hometown that means so much to both of us.

Former Detroit Mayor Bing and I worked together to install over 64,000 new street lights across Detroit, and we partnered up to create innovative youth mentorship programs around the city. I'm proud to earn his support!

Each and every morning, I take my kids to school.

Now, this isn’t your typical drop off routine.

They get to relax — hang out in the stroller for the whole ride.

Me on the other hand? This ritual is my exercise of choice.

When I make this run, as a Black man in Detroit — as a Black man in America — I want to let my neighbors know that I’m running for my health and fitness.

President Espy, Provost Kornbluh, and esteemed university representatives came together to officially name this newly renovated building after Wayne State's 12th president, M. Roy Wilson.

After the ceremony, we had the opportunity to explore the revamped building, showcasing state-of-the-art technology, new amenities, and updated classrooms.
