The SIA team had the opportunity to support a great cause this weekend at the Swing for Ashton Invitational.

On October 11th, 2023, 7-year-old Ashton Crumley’s life was forever changed by a tragic motor-vehicle accident leaving him paralyzed from the waist down. With multiple surgeries behind him, Ashton now confronts the challenges of long-term rehab and adapting to a new life with specialized equipment. Despite the road ahead, Ashton’s spirit remains strong, his determination unwavering. If you are interested in donating, please reach out to Erika McClure at [email protected].

SIA had the opportunity to work with Gillespie Group and the Bobcat Bonnie’s team on the renovation of the old historic train depot and train car, right here in Lansing. With the help of new windows, space planning and some restoration, we were able to bring it back to life for new tenants.

Studio Intrigue Architects would like to congratulate G. A. Hunt Excavating and Septic Service on their new 5,800 square foot treatment facility in St. Johns.

Construction started back in early March of 2023 and wrapped up in early January 2024. The building includes office and waste treatment areas. Construction was completed by Laux Construction LLC

SIA was blessed with the opportunity to provide design services for Sycamore Creek - Eastwood , again - this time at their new Eastwood location!

This is not your typical church design, it HITS DIFFERENT, just like the Church itself. This location contains a licensed ‘incubator’ kitchen that caters to aspiring entrepreneurs, and is home to Stage One at Sycamore Creek Eastwood, a brand-new arts hub unlike anything Lansing has seen before!

For the past year, Studio Intrigue Architects has been completing a host of projects at the Coggon Historic Hall on Main Street in Coggon, Iowa.

Constructed in 1893 as Mason’s Hall on the second floor and “five & dime” on the main floor, it remained an active building through the 1980’s and into the early 1990’s when the Coggon Historical Society took ownership of the building.

Flash forward 30 years and through a generous donation, the hall was restored and modernized.

Studio Intrigue designed a new ADA restroom, structural framing, new electrical service, plumbing, restored remnants of the original stamped tin ceiling and incorporated a new floating ceiling to help dampen sound.

We are grateful to help accomplish goals of the Historic Society and Memorial Foundation to reinvigorate Main Street Coggon and utilize the restored building for events.

For over 20 years Studio Intrigue’s Architects and Designers have worked hard to keep our clients up to date on the latest design trends that will help them to grow and evolve in their current or new space. As we reflect on our years serving others, we felt that it was time to evolve ourselves.

This past year we adopted a new logo that reflects our path forward. A design that is cleaner, brighter, and still captures the unique energy that many have come to know and love us for.

Looking ahead to the new year, we hope you see more of our brand evolution with the launch of our new website coming soon in 2024!

Project Description:

The previous restaurant needed a major update – having been shuttered years prior to the start of this renovation, many of the materials were failing.

The exterior materials were updated, refinished, or replaced. A brand-new accessible deck utilizing the previous foundation was installed. The main entrance was constructed with a walking ramp to provide easy accessibility into the structure. The exterior area was converted into a usable seating area with updated landscaping taking advantage of a previously underutilized area on the riverfront.

The existing interior dining room was completely renovated. Relocating the bar from its interior location to the Southeast corner now gives patrons a direct view of the waterfront. The bar location also allows for an indoor/outdoor experience, with exterior windows that can be fully opened for additional bar seating on the exterior in the warmer months. Removing the old bar location also allowed the owner to increase the kitchen size for increased capacity and menu possibilities. The interior finishes throughout were updated to better suit the H2O Brand and breathe new life into the dated space.

3one3BoutiqueHotel located in downtown Alma Michigan opened this spring, bringing 9 guest rooms for the hotel, and 9 apartments for the community. Gemini Capital Management, LLC has been dedicated to restoring some of the historic architecture in the area, and we were thrilled to join forces on this project with them.
