Wastewater from your septic tank is released into a drainfield (an area of soil underground). The soil in the drainfield completes the treatment of wastewater by removing harmful bacteria and viruses.
Plant roots, heavy equipment and livestock can damage the drainfield. This can prevent it from doing its job to protect groundwater and your septic system.

In an effort to increase access to behavioral health services, MDHHS is partnering with 10 agencies across the state to create Adult Crisis Stabilization Units (CSUs). A $32 million investment to establish CSUs was included in the FY23 budget.
