Two states are considering abolishing property taxes entirely in 2024.
Soaring home values are great news for homeowners, as they often see their equity increase. However, this rise in value can lead to unexpected challenges, particularly with rising property tax bills.
To address this issue, several states are implementing measures to help ease the burden on homeowners by capping annual increases in property tax revenue or assessment values.
In November, voters in Colorado and Georgia will decide on two proposals aimed at this goal. Additionally, Alabama, Wyoming, and Kansas have already passed new laws this year to limit future property tax increases for homeowners. Other states are also considering targeted exemptions and carve-outs to provide further relief.

LARAMIE AREA
With under 600,000 total residents, the population of Wyoming is roughly the same as the population of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Laramie, however, is just above 30K (college students included) offering a small town feel with the amenities of the city. Laramie is located between the beautiful Snowy Range Mountains and the Laramie Range. Many area activities include skiing, snow mobiling, mountain biking, hunting, fishing, and hiking. Rock climbing, hiking, and camping, area among the attractions of Vedauwoo, an assemblage of weathered granite slabs, boulders, and cliffs in the Medicine Bow State Park. The Snowy Range Ski Area is also near by, offering downhill skiing on 27 trails. Laramie includes 7 Elementary schools, two middle schools, and a the newly built Laramie High School. Wyoming is the only state that is home to just one four-year postgraduate university: the University of Wyoming. That means Poke Pride is all around the state!!
