💡If you’ve ever experienced a chiropractic adjustment, you might be familiar with the distinctive popping or cracking sound that often accompanies the procedure. This sound can be startling to some and satisfying to others. But what exactly causes it?

💥The sound heard during a chiropractic adjustment is commonly known as a cavitation. This occurs when a sudden change in joint position creates a rapid release of gas bubbles from the synovial fluid within the joint capsule. The synovial fluid lubricates joints, making movement smooth and pain-free. When the joint is adjusted, the pressure inside the joint capsule drops, allowing dissolved gases (mainly nitrogen) to form bubbles and escape, producing the characteristic popping noise.

⭐️ If you’re considering chiropractic care, remember to discuss any questions or concerns with your chiropractor to ensure a comfortable and informed experience.

💡 Did you know? The way you sleep can either alleviate or exacerbate your back pain.

⭐️ BEST POSITION: Sleeping on Your Back with a Pillow Under Your Knees

**How to Do It**:
- Lie flat on your back.
- Place a pillow under your knees to elevate them slightly.
- Use a small pillow to support your neck.

⭕️ DECENT: Sleeping on Your Side with a Pillow Between Your Knees

**How to Do It**:
- Lie on your side, ensuring your head is aligned with your spine.
- Draw your knees up slightly towards your chest.
- Place a pillow between your knees to maintain hip alignment.

❌ WORSE: Sleeping on Your Stomach with a Pillow Under Your Abdomen

**How to Do It**:
- Lie on your stomach.
- Place a pillow under your pelvis and lower abdomen to reduce stress on your back.
- Use a flat pillow or no pillow at all under your head to keep your neck in a neutral position.
