As EMS week of 2023 comes to an end, we would like to thank Laredo College EMS department, Laredo Medical Center Trauma Dept as well as all participating agencies of the Seven Flags Regional Advisory Council. We had a great turnout. It was great having all local EMS agencies come and enjoy food and beverages. Thank you Laredo Fire Department for your donation to the cookout. It's great to be part of the Laredo EMS community.

Getting to know....
Air Evac 93 would like to introduce crew member of the month our senior medic / BCL Herbert Serna . Herbert was welcomed into our family 8 years ago and still counting. He's proudly served the Laredo community and Zapata county as a paramedic/firefighter for 20 years. In his free time he's always cycling and has been part of the Laredo cycling community as well. If he's not cycling he's spending time with his wife and 2 girls. He's currently working on his bachelor's in Emergency Health Sciences in UT Health San Antonio. We would like to thank the Laredo College EMS Program for having us today. It was a great turn out! We had a mix of EMS, EKG technicians, nursing students, faculty and administrators. Our visit was cut short but we hope to be back soon!

Today we share our great nurse Juve!
Juve was born in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico and moved to Laredo, TX at the age of 10. Graduated from nursing school at Laredo College in 2018, and went straight into the Emergency Room at Laredo Medical Center. There, he worked as a staff, triage, and charge nurse of the unit handling several aspects of patient care within the unit. However, his dream was to become a flight nurse. The "skies" opened up initially in Eagle Pass but the opportunity to transfer home to Laredo became a possibility and he took it. When he is not working, he enjoys spending time with his fiancé Paula, daughter Gianna, his boys Marcus and Adrian. He also likes to spend time with his friends, play video games, and golf. At the moment, He is working on expanding his knowledge as a healthcare provider and get additional acute healthcare certifications.

On this year’s National Aviation Day, we express our gratitude for our hardworking air teams, whose soaring dedication to providing medical transport at a moment’s notice saves numerous lives each year

We had a great time visiting Zapata County Fire Dept the other day visiting friends and old stomping grounds for a few of our crew members. Always a pleasure to work together when it is needed for the community.
