Sames Scholars

Our annual Sames Scholars Orientation kick-off was a success last night! 41 current students in the program with TAMIU Mentors helping these students along their path! Congratulations to the newest Cohort! 22nd year with 88 graduates and over $1.9M contributed towards the program.

Attending the event were a few Sames Scholars Alumnus, Dr. Ray Keck as our guest speaker, Mrs. Candy Hein, many of our Mentors and our current high school and university students. We are proud and excited for our graduates 👩🏻‍🎓 👨🏻‍🎓and their bright future.
Since inception in 2002, 21 years ago, the Sames Scholars program has had 85 university Graduates with over $1.8M invested in the program.

Anyone can help students in need with a chance to get a college degree, start with one student and change their world for ever!

This is an inspiring group of Sames Scholars from sophomores in high school to seniors in college working towards their TAMIU degree. This is our 20th year providing funds, mentors and support for first generation university scholars.

Our first meeting all together for over a year and half was a great success! Orientation kick off was highlighted by our guest speaker, Dr. Barbara Hong, the mentors for our Sames Scholars high school students and Sames Alumni. Thank you Azeneth and Athena for your hard work organizing everything!
