2024 Turquoise Circuit ProRodeo Finals was one heck of a suspense filled and exciting ride!!! All of the Year End and Event competition was top notch, and the personnel and contestant list was some of the best I've ever worked with. I was in awe of how close the times and scores were and I'm glad I didn't make any predictions. It was so great to see so many of my favorites and meet so many new young competitors. I was truly honored to be a small part of this year's event. I look forward to seeing the competition heat up again in 2025! Congratulations to all of our NFR Open Qualifiers and GOD speed to those headed to the Super Bowl of Rodeo, the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo!
James Horcasitas is no stranger to the Turquoise Circuit, much less the Turquoise Circuit Finals. This will be Horcasitas’ third consecutive year announcing in Camp Verde, AZ, and this year is no less special than the prior years. “I’m super excited to have the honor to be part of it”, Horcasitas said in regard to the three-peat, “This is a chance to watch the best in the circuit show off. There’s some superstars here in the circuit ”.
You may recognize his voice from his co-announcing position at the World’s Oldest Rodeo Prescott Frontier Days in Prescott, AZ over the past few years. We look forward to having him announce our champions this year on November 1-2 in Camp Verde, AZ.
We are so thankful for our wonderful sponsors; Cinch, Las Vegas Events, RAM, Montana Silversmiths, and The Cowboy Channel, for all of their support!

Last weekend was a very special trip down memory lane when I got to work one of my very first rodeos for the 20th year! Benson Butterfield Days Rodeo and Heather Floyd took a chance on me when I was just getting started out announcing. They have treated me like family since day 1 and I have watched her kiddos grow up into outstanding adults. This rodeo and this crew have been the epitome of loving what ya do and why we do what we do. They were even so cool they gave me a custom Hat Can and a few other "select" prizes inside to celebrate the occasion. Thank you all for 20 wonderful years of fun with more to come!
Another great time at the Cochise College Rodeo with our good friend Shotgunn Nate Reed that had the crowd laughing both nights! Watching the next generation of Rodeo Athletes is always an honor to watch because you never know who is going to step up and surprise everybody. Freshman were putting the seniors on notice of how good they can be and some of the new kids on the block showed the wiley veterans who to watch out for. It made for an extremely exciting short round. Sound provided by High Voltage Rodeo Sound and thank you to all of the coaches and student athletes that brought the most exciting event to the Cochise County Fair.
What have I been up to the last 5 weeks, well let's see...
Went to my second hometown Shoot Out Arena in Tombstone, AZ and boy did the Good Lord wait on the amazing bullriding to end before the rain hit. Then took a trip to Cowtown, New Jersey and had a great time as always with a superb cast and crew and even treed a ground hog. Who knew they could climb trees? Then to Socorro, NM for their Annual Fair and PRCA Rodeo. That little bitty town sure draws a lot of rodeo fans and they love that little dog race. (You gotta see it to believe it). Then it was time to get dressed up and help out in my hometown at the Community Foundation of Southern NM Banquet. I clean up every once in a while. And finally last weekend I was off to Prescott, AZ for Olsen's Equifest and The Legacy Ranch Horse Sale. Got to meet and hang out with some top notch ranchers, cowboys and cowgirls that put on a top tier event for their community. I can not say enough nice things about the wonderful folks that put these exciting events on and allow me to be a part of them. GOD bless you all for your hard work and dedication to the sport and lifestyle we love and live.

Congratulations to the Burns Ranch on winning the 43rd Annual Texas Ranch Roundup in Wichita Falls, TX!!! The competition was fierce and it was back and forth between four Ranches over the two days of competition. I got to see the Casey Donahew Band after the perf on Friday night and ran into an old family friend that I've known since he was a kid! Love this crew and love what this Ranch Rodeo is all about. Helping their community. It is an honor to see these ten historic Texas Ranches come to town and put it all on the line to be the best Ranch rodeo team in Texas
Happy 248th Birthday America! I hope and pray you get to celebrate this wonderful day with family, friends and in peace. GOD Bless the U.S.A.
Shoot Out Arena in Tombstone once again changed some things and hit a home run! There was a Team Bulls event added, there was a long go and a short round and I think the crowd loved it! The riders that won the long go and the short strutted out with some pretty hefty paydays to set them up for success during "Cowboy Christmas". The first photo is for those that don't see the contractors while their animals perform and how they react and try to help them turn back and buck. Lol!
Next stop---Prescott Frontier Days-World's Oldest Rodeo!!!
Artesia, NM 2nd Annual City of Champions Professional Rodeo is growing! Three days of full rodeos and a great line up of Turquoise Circuit ProRodeo Contestants and quite a few from beyond. I am so happy to see everybody survived the dust storms, heat, and still had a great time. The crowds were definitely bigger than last year. It takes a while for new rodeos to get rolling and am proud of the committee for not giving up or in to the negative words of some. Support rodeo or it dies. It's that simple. Not every rodeo is perfect, nor am I. But if we all try our best and support the sport we love, they all grow together.
10 years goes by so quick and getting to work with the Rafter G Rodeo crew each year in Bandera, TX is always a blast! It is like a family reunion whenever we all get there. Getting to spend time laughing, joking, eating, playing giant Jenga, and catching up on each other's lives is my favorite parts of the rodeo lifestyle. I look forward to this rodeo each and every year. Thanks to each and every person that makes this rodeo so special to everyone that attends. And this was the sign my daughter made for me when I returned home.
I was able to witness something super cool this weekend. I've watched Brad Moreno ride, rope and wrestle against some pretty good competition. Last weekend I watched him ride two rank bulls at The Shoot Out Arena during The Battle of the Nation's Bull Riding. He not only won Round 1 on the reigning SOA Bull of the Year, Hammerlane, he won Round 2 as well on another rank Bull of 3G's Bucking Bull's Blade. Both of these bulls had previously bucked him.off and he had been waiting for a rematch. Well he got his revenge and was the Champion of the entire event. He also sealed the victory for the Native American Team to be Back-to-Back Champions of this outstanding event! Thank you to all that competed and attended.
The Palo Pinto County Livestock Association PRCA ProRodeo is in the books. I would like to thank everybody that makes this rodeo so much fun and enjoyable to be a part of. The entire Crew is laughing, joking, smiling and truly enjoying what they do. I get a kick out of a committee that smiles through the rain, wind, and cold knowing that they are bringing a top notch show to their hometown. And the town showed up in all of the weather previously described. I look forward to seeing how much this rodeo can grow in the coming years. Great job to all of the members of the PPCLA!
NMSU Rodeo knows how to put on an awesome rodeo! Largest crowds they have ever had and partnering with the Blue Moon Bar & Grill for the Country Music Festival only doubled the fun! Blackhawk and Diamond Rio were so cool to see live and they sound just as great as they did back in the day. So super proud of all of the college student athletes and their teams. Good luck to each and every one of you down the rodeo trail. It is an absolute honor to watch you all compete.
Calling all NMSU Aggie Rodeo Fans! Tomorrow night we kick off three straight days of exciting rodeo action at the Southern New Mexico Fairgrounds! I am trying to find some information about Rodeos on American Military Bases. I just worked an amazing college rodeo at Ft Huachuca, AZ for the MWR and Cochise College. We were wondering if there are any other rodeos on bases in the Nation or anywhere else in the world? When I was a teenager and lived in West Germany, my dad took me to a rodeo but I can not remember if it was on base or not. Please let me know if you have credible information. It is more for the committee and the wonderful folks that host this event. That would be a cool title for them to have. Thank you in advance.
