This week marks National Community-Supported Agriculture (CSA) Week! CSA is a farming model built on fairness and transparency for both the farmer and the consumer. Traditionally, a consumer buys a share of a farm up-front, which provides financial security to the farmer for that season. In return, the consumer receives a regular box of fresh produce. Joining a CSA also offers opportunities to volunteer at community events. To learn more about CSAs in New Mexico, including year-round opportunities, visit New Mexico Farmers' Markets resources page at https://farmersmarketsnm.org/resources/shopper-resources/csa-listings/.

The benefits our neighbors facing hunger receive through SNAP should reflect the latest nutrition science and today's economy. If the cost of nutritious foods increases, as it has in the last few years, SNAP benefits should increase, too!
Congress can help millions of families afford a healthy, nutritious diet by continuing to modernize SNAP and ensuring regular adjustments to the Thrifty Food Plan—used to determine SNAP benefit amounts—reflect inflation and evolving nutrition guidance and practices.
