Special day out at the site today as we hosted a group from the United States Air Force Logistics Officers Association 🚀

The airmen and women flew in, toured alongside Spaceport and Virgin Galactic personnel, then took a quick 45-minute flight back to Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque ✨

It’s the week of the State 4-H Conference here in New Mexico, and we were happy to have a visit from 4-H members around the state as part of their week-long programming schedule at New Mexico State University 🚀

Connecting Students to Spaceports and Spaceports to Students
This workshop will include several different speakers who will discuss how spaceports can engage with universities and their students. The SSpaceport America Cup is one vehicle, but many other opportunities exist. Speakers will share examples of what spaceports are doing or hope to do in collaboration with universities, and how such joint efforts can be enhanced. This session will serve to foster those connections.

Big day yesterday as we signed an MOU with Middle Rio Grande Economic Development Association 🚀

Executive Directors Scott McLaughlin (Spaceport America) and Kirstin Keller (MRGEDA) put pen to paper on the MOU to foster innovation, economic growth and exploration in our region.

Yuri Gagarin paved the way for hundreds, and on today’s International Day of Human Spaceflight we celebrate the successes of our anchor tenant in the realm of commercial spaceflight 🚀

Of the 681 people who have gone to space, 32 have done so via Virgin Galactic at Spaceport America. That’s just under five percent of the total number of humans who have ventured to the stars ✨
