The Ember Theatre Company is community based from the artistic body of students attending New Mexico State University. Our company produces several plays and musical reviews, as well as improv shows, student spotlights, and all things performance arts. We accept all ideas and concept for events and performance pieces, and we accept/encourage all current NMSU students to join!

Las Cruces! We are about to host two FULL evenings of new plays on Fri & Sat 2/16 and 2/17. You can come for part or all of it, and it's free ($5 suggested donation)! I get to work with Benjamin Benne who's here working on his somehow both movingly personal and epic Seattle Rep commission, untitled anthropocene play (or this man i call mi primo). maiya a corral is coming in to work on La Manda, her powerful act of "re-ascestoring," directed by Monica Mojica We also have the first act of Lisa Hermanson's original musical The Golden Door, directed by Mike Wise, as well as excerpts by local writers James Fritz Jerome and Mireya Sanchez-Maes, and NMSU students Vida Vee Montoya, Austin Reeves, and Rissa Wooldridge (directed by students Eva Cullen and Yasmine Jahangiri). Our Story

Ember is a student community working out of New Mexico State University. We are a theatre group meant to provide students with the opportunity to gain technical and performance experience outside of the main stage productions. Ember is a resource for students to explore their creativity. A place where student playwrights can bring new works and workshop them or simply gain feedback. Ember is about collaboration and making the best out of what we have and our focus is the students’ needs. We are not exclusive to theatre majors and we are actively trying to facilitate connections between students from other departments. Currently, Ember is in a transitional period of rebuilding so productions are on hold, but keep an eye out for new things to come in the Spring semester of 2020.
