How to Improve Communication in your Relationships with Appreciative Communication 🙌🏼🙌🏼
What is Appreciative Communication??
It’s a type of communication that creates connection and leaves you feeling supported and energized instead of unsupported and depleted.
The ONE thing that creates a disconnect or a break in relationships is lack of communication.
1️⃣ First, we have to understand that each person has their own “Map” 🗺 of the world 🌎 and each map is valid. No two maps are the same. In order to effectively communicate with someone, we have to be able to understand with the willingness to learn.
2️⃣ Get curious! Try to get on their map and learn to set yours aside. Leave judgment out the door🚪and try to understand why this person has that point of view, unmet need, or desire.
3️⃣ Get specific!
Who?
What?
Where?
How?
“He always makes me feel left out.” ☹️
“How specifically does he make you feel left out?”
When we get specific, it leaves out room for assumption and frustration.
4️⃣ Empathazie. Nothing makes a person feel heard and understood like showing empathy. 💕
I cannot tell you how much this has improved my communication with my hubby. It’s so nice to feel understood and not judged.
Are you ready to improve your relationships?
Whenever I feel stressed or I need to clear my mind, I lay outside in the sun and look up at the sky and trees.
This helps me to feel grounded.
This helps me to feel connected with nature and helps my body feel aligned. I feel more center, even when things around me feel uncertain.
What do you do to help you feel grounded?
Why is it so hard to practice self-forgiveness?
Perhaps the perception we have of ourselves plays a certain role in it.
When we see ourselves in a certain light and realize we are not the ‘perfect’ human we thought we were designed to be, it makes it harder to forgive ourselves.
The feelings of shame, guilt, and resentment cling onto our ego and put a halt to the entrance of compassion and love.
It’s beneficial to our health that we are open to forgiving ourselves. Since the mind and body are connected, those ill feelings that we are harboring can wreck havoc on your health.
When we can forgive ourself, it is easier to forgive others.
Join me for a live discussion on Practicing Self-Forgiveness, followed by a guided meditation with Mindfulness & Meditation facilitator Maylee Van Wie on Friday, Oct 1st @ 7:00 pm PST.

How to Give an Immune-Boosting Foot Massage With Essential Oils A few weeks ago I wrote about the benefits of using essential oils as part of a healing massage.
