We had the pleasure of training 5 groups of UNLV nursing students over the past 2 weeks. They participated in Dementia Live training, played games with our residents and got a workout in too!!

Elvis was in the building! Uplift Hospice sent him to us from Pig Gigs for a little piggy fun. JR (his owner) was very educational and Elvis was as smart as he is cute! Thanks Uplift for making our day!

Come one, come all to Lumina for our "Sparkle Mixer" and keep the Independence Day Celebration going! Our Infamous Chef Shilo will be presenting her delectable treats for all to enjoy with great fun and opportunity to meet with others, professional and non professionals!

Its always a good idea to stay cool and hydrated in the summer heat for all of us! Our residents had a fun time cooling off with toes in water, fans for an island breeze, tropical cold drinks, and reggae music to enjoy! Lots of laughs with fun silly sunglasses, as your never too old to "be in the moment"! It was a fun little "escape" to the islands that our residents really enjoyed!

We hosted the "Longest Day" Summer Solstice Fundraiser for Alzheimer's Assoc. from 9a - 7p this year and had a great time with hitting "Pucks for Bucks"! Thank you for supporting us as a community and continue to support and partner with the Alzheimer's Association to find a cure! Special shout out to, The Key, Compassion Care and Patients Choice for being our community partners and contributions for a successful event! We are already looking forward to next years event!

Happy 4th of July America! Taking time out to appreciate the freedom we as Americans have everyday! It was a great time celebrated by all with lots of fun activities and a naturally delectable BBQ experience from our Infamous Chef Shilo!

The Team at Lumina Las Vegas is has joined forces to celebrate the "Longest Day" Summer Solstice! Come on out and have a great time and use your hockey skills just for fun and laughs, to raise money for the Alzheimer's Association! Taco's, Shaved Ice and Flavored Lemonade Trucks for attendee's that donate to an amazing cause.

Pucks for Bucks Fundraiser
Lumina Las Vegas is determined to help end Alzheimer’s by raising funds and awareness for the care, support, and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association- The Longest Day. Come out and enjoy the fun.

We had a lovely afternoon celebrating our mom's in our community for Mothers Day! Each one has so many special qualities about them that we have come to know and adore and make them so special to us. Chef Shilo spoiled all with all of her beautiful talent in the kitchen that everyone enjoyed! Lots of games and decorating of picture frames their pictures will go into, such fun creating very special memories 🥰

Thank you to our volunteers that bring such fun to our crafting sessions with our residents! We had a great time making flower arrangements this week in honor of Mothers Day!

This weekend we celebrate the women who have sacrificed so much to raise or influence each of us to be who we are today. Whether you live with us, work with us or personally raised us, you are treasured and all of us at Solera thank you! Happy Mother's Day Weekend!

Our partner school West Charleston Enrichment Academy had their spring play tonight. The residents had a great time watching the students they've come to know all year shine their brightest! We're so proud of them and the amazing job they did this evening! # # #

One of the things we envisioned before Lumina opened was having a gardening club where the residents could grow the food they use in our Cooktivity program. We started with a few packs of seeds and transferred them to our raised garden bed. We think they've grown since we transferred them Monday!

Techtivity isn't scheduled until tomorrow, but that didn't stop us from having fun with our Virtual Reality tonight. We went on a hot air balloon ride, snorkeling in a coral reef, bike riding over the Golden Gate Bridge, and hiking in the Grand Canyon without leaving the Fremont Room! Can't wait to see what we explore tomorrow!

With the first week of spring last week, we made sock bunnies during arts and crafts! Don't worry, the socks were clean and new. It was so much fun to use our creative juices and decorate our space to welcome spring to Lumina!

The Luck of the Irish was celebrated at Lumina Las Vegas this year with an amazing day of games, crafts, Celtic music and the most delicious traditional St Patty's Dinner with a most delightful desert, Thank you Chef Shilo! 🍀Its such a fun day, we all had a great time laughing and enjoying our community!☘️🍀🌈💚

We have an AMAZING partnership with the Clark County Library System . Our home library is fully stocked with books, movies, magazines and audio books that our residents can "check out". The West Charleston location came and brought amazing kits for us to borrow. We are beyond excited for our monthly visits and can't wait to make special trips to the library!

We had a surprise visitor in honor of National Woman's Day and the strong ladies of Lumina Las Vegas! Thank you Lindo's Flowers for the very generous visit to make our residents and staff feel very special today with your beautiful roses!

Lumina leadership had a great time celebrating our employees for "Employee Appreciation Week" We celebrate our wonderful employees that have so much compassion doing what they love to do, which is coming to work everyday with smiles and hugs and taking care of our amazing residents! Nicole ordered the "King Sized Pizzas" for all to enjoy accompanied with award certificates, karaoke, and games, and of course, a lot of laughter!

Its the perfect day to Celebrate all the women in our lives, past, present and future that bring so much positive to all of us! Did you know the first National Woman's Day began in America in 1909? It slowly spread to European countries until finally, the United Nations recognized International Women’s Day in 1975. What resonates most about this today is that the voices of change and innovation started right here in the United States! May we toast the brave ladies before us while we channel the same spirit and continue to forge new paths for everyone. Cheers to all the amazing women.

Yesterday was Leap Day and we were lucky enough to have the kids from West Charleston Enrichment Academy over for some fun Leap Day activities! We started with a flinging chicken or flamingo contest (where we learned that it's harder than we thought and that we ALL need more practice) and ended with a frog jumping competition. The frogs went MUCH better than the chickens. As always, it was a ton of fun having the kids over and enjoying the afternoon together!

We don't always have big events for our medical students when they come to Lumina. The other day a few students stopped by and just spent some time with one of our residents enjoying the nice weather, talking about his restaurant in Chicago, watching sports, and having "guy time". It was just what the doctor ordered!

Hydration is something that Solera and Lumina take very seriously. So seriously that it is one of our signature programs! We have water stations throughout the building for residents and guests to take care of their body and mind! Of course, Chef Shilo can't let us drink plain old water. She always does an amazing job adding fruits, vegetables, and herbs to make the water taste fantastic and encourage us to drink even more!
