The Spokane River is now flowing below 1000 cubic ft. per second--WELL below normal for late July--which has triggered Level 2 watering restrictions in the City of Spokane.

I’ve always liked the folks at US National Weather Service Spokane Washington, but this dad joke is taking it to another level! 🤩
What’s NOT a joke is this heat! It’s sticking around through the weekend, and it’s still extremely dry for most of the region. 🥵
Be sure to stay hydrated, wear sunscreen, spend time in air conditioning if you can and remember to adhere to local burn restrictions as fire danger remains high in the Inland Northwest. ☀️
Why did the thermometer go to therapy? Because it had a meltdown over the rising temperatures! 🌡️🫠

Burn restrictions are now in effect across Spokane County, ahead of the holiday weekend and continued hot and DRY conditions across the region. ☀️
Spending the afternoon in Spangle today with Spokane County Fire District #3 Chief Cody Rohrbach talking about this summer’s fire outlook.
The short version: conditions are already in place for us to have a VERY active fire season.

Yesterday I got experience the MIND-BLOWING skill of Fairchild Air Force Base's KC-135 refueling teams first hand, with an inside-the-cockpit look at their special flyover mission to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the United States Air Force's Refueling Wing!
We flew over towns across the Northwest, down the Oregon coast, and by every major mountain in the Cascades!
