Desperate to find him! Last seen near building 2 of Accent on Sahara. Suspected he was grabbed on purpose from new info I've been given today by people who said he was spotted on a security cam. I don't have a copy of the footage yet but I'm working on getting it. It's not my camera that caught him so it's taking time to get it so we can broadcast the video/pictures of the two women who have him and see if they can be located and reunite Buffalo with his family! I haven't seen any posts about him being found but I'm being optimistic and hoping that was the two ladies plans. To reunite him when they saw a friendly cat outside.
UPDATE: REUNITED!! Buffalo is home safe & sound after 7 days, 1 hours :)
"Thank you to everyone that looked or gave advice! Buffalo is safe home now! "

So we've started a fundraiser to help cover some of the costs of building the sanctuary on the land we purchased earlier this year. We've begun the permits and have to go out next week for a border survey and septic installation. Our goal is to have it completed by next August (working on the budget we have right now. Obviously that'll change as our budget changes if this is successful). Feel free to share! Also follow our page Paws and Maws for updates on when they will be available for pick up (if you choose that option) or when they will be delivered to you!

Guess who is Panleukopenia free!! These guys!! Plus 1 other baby, Melody, that I can't get to hold still for a photo lol They were released from quarantine today and they're loving it!
I see your eyes starting to open!!
Mama and her 4 babies, estimated 10 weeks old. Someone was threatening to shoot them with a BB gun so a trapper was able to get them and contacted me for fostering help! Of course I offered even though we're nearing capacity. They're a little hissy, but they're scared and traumatized. Not feral. They'll be adoptable in no time!
This! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 We do not need breeders. Shelters euthanize animals everyday because there physically is not enough space and resources and supplies to keep them healthy and alive.
This is why if an animal has never been to a vet, fixed, vaccinated, received medical care DO NOT buy that animal. Sellers profit by medically neglecting their animals. Rescues often pay more for medical care than the adoption fee covers. Breeders and rescues are not the same and this is the difference. 😭

Three words of advice for reaching out to animal rescuers: assume the best.
Assume that if you’re reaching out to someone who does animal rescue, you’re reaching out to someone who has a huge heart. Assume that they care deeply about saving lives. Assume that if they don’t respond to you right away, or at all, it’s because they’re so busy helping animals. Assume that you’re the 10th, 20th, or 100th person to reach out to them today asking for help. Assume that if they can’t help you, it’s because they are already at max capacity. Assume that you do not know or see a fraction of what is on their plate. Assume that they might be exhausted. Assume that they might be grieving, or tender. Assume that they are a loving, kind person who is a source of good for the world. Assume that they are worthy of being treated with consideration and respect. Assume that they are human.
Because 9 times out of 10, if you assume these things about an animal rescuer, you will be right. So when you reach out to an animal rescuer, let your words be filled with gratitude, patience, and understanding. Don’t use your words to jab at animal rescuers for not being available enough, not doing more, not “caring,” not being able to single-handedly save the world. Treat animal rescuers with compassion, not just when they can help you, but even—and especially—when they can’t. And when they can’t, don’t assume the worst. Assume the best.

Why do rescues charge an adoption fee? Responsible pet owners pay for vet visits and the adoption fee is more of a vet charge for some of the services the animal receives. You can find a free cat outside. That cat may be contagious, as these two are, and some cat illnesses can be spread to humans. So either you will spend money on vet visits or adoption fees and adoption fees are WAY cheaper than a vet visit. We spent almost $400 on these two cuties at an emergency vet and they'll need more medical care that will cost even more money. Unfortunately we're self funded so our budget is extremely limited.
Thankfully, a rescue with more funding than we have took in Charlie and Bitsy so they can get the medical help they need! They were part of a community colony and a lady (who is AMAZING for taking on this responsibility and feeding this colony daily with no financial help) reached out because she was overwhelmed and wanted/needed help getting the colony fixed so they'd stop having litters in her yard and creating even more cats for her to feed.
This colony was formed by mainly abandoned pets when people moved out. They just left their cats. PLEASE fix your cats and vaccinate them! Even if you have just a male. If that male gets out for just a few hours, he can impregnate many female cats and these babies suffer outside.
Charlie (6 months old, orange cat) and Bitsy (9 months old, black cat) were born outside to an abandoned cat that wasn't fixed. Since birth Bitsy has been sick and suffering in pain. She has a hernia causing incontinence, seborrhea, fleas (treated), ear mites (treated), severe congestion inhibiting her ability to breathe (reason why we paid for an emergency vet), and an upper respiratory infection (being treated). This suffering doesn't need to happen. We can fix our pets and prevent little babies like Bitsy from suffering.
Both cats are currently at the vet overnight and I really hope both of these adorable sweethearts get healthy and adopted! They deserve it and despite all of their suffering and illness they still did not attack when I had to give a flea bath and they still purred when I held them. They're such strong troopers and so adorable and all they want is a furrever home and a family to love them.
Not only can cats suffer from lack of regular vet care but humans can suffer too! Regular vet visits are the only way to prevent illness.

Good morning from Miss Pacific! She's still struggling and not out of the woods yet but she is gaining weight and eating a little and now standing on her own looking for her syringe of food!
Big yawn from baby Samuel! 6 day old orphan
New foster babies arrived today! They're 3 days old and were found outside. Unfortunately, not a lot of people know that a mama cat usually is nearby if you're patient and wait. She likes to wander sometimes. And if she's feral she may not return if humans are near her area. If you find baby kittens outside, please keep an eye for mama for at least a couple hours from a distance before touching the babies or disturbing her nest! We can bottle feed these little guys of course but nobody is a better caretaker than a cat mama
