The Youth Council members assist in fulfilling Project 150β²s vision to empower Teens in promoting higher education, community involvement, cultural awareness, and leadership development. We need new members, community leaders to serve as mentors, sponsors, and facilitators. Youth Council members and Advisors meet every 2nd Sunday of each month, from 2:00p.m. to 3:30PM p.m. at the Academy of Human Development located at. Eastern Ave, LV 89104

Project 150 awards more than $100,000 in scholarships The school year is right around the corner and now 51 valley students, heading to college will have some money in the bank to pay for it. This year we presented 51 scholarships with a value of $116,700 thanks to the Youth Council's fundraising efforts, matching dollars from UNLV, CSN, and NSC, company, memorial, and individual scholarships. There was over 400 in attendance at the Scholarship Awards Luncheon. A special thanks to Zappos for Good for sponsoring our event.
We also presented four Champions for Youth Awards: SOS Radio, KB Home, Teresa Reynoso & Caesarβs Entertainment, and Robertoβs Taco Shop, LLC. We would not be able to assist these 51 students without our community's support. Thank you to those who attended, sponsored seats, and donated their services.

What a great way to end the year with the Secret Santa Luncheon put together by the Project 150 Youth Council and community sponsors! Thank you to our host, Canyon Ridge Christian Church, Andria Knowles-Coleman and parents for generously cooking and donating the food for us, and all of those who sponsored a family and donated their time to make this event happen. With your contributions we were able to assist over 65 students and their families, totaling over 260 people. The Youth Council could not have done it without you!

The Youth Council was fortunate enough to assist Candlelighters with their holiday event today. It was such a great event; to see all the kids and families enjoy their time was rewarding. Thank you to Anderson Dairy, Smithβs, and OSM for assisting with our food station.

College Tips for Success was definitely a success! Thank you to our panelist: Sabrina Roybal, Jessica Roybal, Jesus Basulto, Citlally Adame, and Robert Vargas who shared their experiences and tips on the upcoming semester. Our scholarship recipients are ready for their first day on Monday.
It is with great regret for the Project 150 Youth Council to announce that we have to cancel the Velasquez Memorial Scholarship Soccer Tournament this weekend. Nevertheless we plan on continuing Angel and Jackieβs legacy with other fundraising plans. We would love for everyone to help us fundraise by simply donating to the Scholarship Program by visiting our website.
For those of you able to attend the memorial anniversary, feel free to join us tomorrow at Palms Northwest Mortuary at 7:30pm. Letβs show Angel and Jackieβs family that regardless of the outcome of the tournament we will still support and honor them β€οΈππΌ
