The UNLV Performing Arts Center has been a home of the arts in Southern Nevada since 1976.
The UNLV Performing Arts Center, part of the UNLV College of Fine Arts, has been the home of the arts in Southern Nevada since 1976. On almost any day of the year, you can find something to do: classical music broadway stars, world music, ballet, modern dance, theatre, musicals, opera, jazz and more!
The Beijing Guitar Duo’s new album 'Clair de Lune' was released on Tonar Records in 2023 and they have nearly 2,000 Youtube subscribers with videos clocking in between 10,000 and 100,000 views! Come see what the buzz is about on Oct. 1.
As an added bonus the duo will be doing a free pre-show talk in the concert hall at 5:30 p.m. preceding the ticketed 6:30 p.m. show.

On October 4 at 6 p.m., the UNLV PAC will unveil the first iteration of a community ofrenda built by local Las Vegas artist Elsa Cantú-Lizarraga. Initially, the ofrenda will feature photographs of UNLV family and friends who have passed, including photos of Lee Business School professors Cha Jan "Jerry" Chang and Patricia Navarro-Velez and World Languages and Culture professor Naoko Takemaru–the three whose lives were taken on December 6 of last year.
The free unveiling event will feature dancers from Calpulli Tlatelolco and an introduction by the artist. Parking is available in the Cottage Grove Parking lot.
We invite the community to contribute framed 4x6 photos of those who have passed October 7–11 and 14–18. (Call 702-895-4587 or email [email protected] for drop off details.)
Return to the Artemus W. Ham Concert Hall at 8 p.m. on October 25 to see the final ofrenda and enjoy Disney•Pixar’s Coco Live-to-Film Concert with the Orquesta Folclórica Nacional de México (tickets required).

El 4 de Octubre a las 6 p.m., el PAC de la UNLV dará a conocer la primera versión de una ofrenda comunitaria construida por la artista local de Las Vegas, Elsa Cantú-Lizarraga. In addition to playing concerts, the duo shares a love for teaching which brings them to major conservatories in the world for master classes and to judge competitions. The duo served as Artists-in-residence from 2011-15 for the San Francisco Performances which brought them to the Bay Area two weeks a year for community outreach, performances, and masterclasses in public schools as well as for the SF Conservatory.
In keeping this love of teaching going, they will be doing a free pre-show talk in the concert hall at 5:30 p.m. preceding the ticketed 6:30 p.m. show.

The Beijing Guitar Duo has performed around the world in halls such as the Concertgebouw, Palau de Musica, Tchaikovsky Hall and the National Theatre in Beijing. Their performances and recordings have impressed the public with “an ability and artistry that exceeds their years.” Their debut CD Maracaípe, received a Latin-GRAMMY nomination for the titled piece, which was dedicated to them by renowned guitarist/composer Sergio Assad. UNLV welcomes acclaimed author and podcaster Malcolm Gladwell for the latest installment of the Barrick Lecture Series.
The lecture is free and open to the public but tickets are required. Tickets are limited to two per person and must be obtained in person from the Performing Arts Center box office. Tickets will be available for UNLV students, faculty, and staff beginning at noon on Wednesday, Sept. 4 (a UNLV ID is required). Tickets for the general public will be available starting at noon on Saturday, Sept. 7.
