We have officially hit 1 month since we started our New Year’s Resolutions. How are yours going?

We were proud to sponsor and work at the 8th annual Cops for Kids golf tournament at Dragon Ridge Country Club, an event organized by the charitable arm of the Las Vegas Police Managers and Supervisors Association. It was a great event that will benefit many children in our community.

Aldrich Law Firm wants to express our deepest condolences to those affected by the tragic events that occurred on the UNLV campus yesterday. Our thoughts are with the victims, their families, and the entire UNLV and Las Vegas community during this difficult time. We are grateful to the first responders for their bravery and compassion in responding to a horrific situation.

Remember to hug your family and friends and tell them you love them.

This past Friday, Sandra Day O’Connor passed away. As the first female Associate Justice on the U.S. Supreme Court, she was a trailblazer who handled difficult situations with grace and dignity. She was an excellent Justice who was concerned about the big picture. Justice O’Connor was also very kind. In February 1998, the day after our second son was born, she came to my law school. Amie worked in the University President’s office at the time, and upon arriving at a reception with Justice O’Connor, the President brought Justice O’Connor and her husband over to congratulate me on our new arrival. They all could not have been nicer. After spending 5 minutes asking about Amie and the baby, they excused themselves to go meet the many people who were more important than me. Justice O’Conor’s husband , John, stayed and spent about a half-hour chitchatting about lots of things. Over the next couple of days, John was very friendly and sat next to me at events. Justice O’Connor went out of her way to say hi and check on how the baby was doing. It was a great lesson for me that no matter how important you are, it’s most important to be nice. I am grateful for that interaction with greatness.

This month marks 19 YEARS of Aldrich Law Firm. We love being part of and being able to serve the Las Vegas community. Here’s to many more years!
