Foundation to Assist Young Musicians ("FAYM")
FAYM Since its founding in 2007, FAYM has raised over $1,500,000 for programs and scholarships.
As a result, FAYM's Collegiate Scholars have attended such fine institutions as the Eastman School of Music (Rochester, NY), the Interlochen Arts Academy (Interlochen, MI) and Carnegie-Mellon School of Music (Pittsburgh, PA) for talented high school and university age musicians. FAYM’s Annual Orientation for new families was tonight and we are so happy to see all the enthusiasm for getting students playing!! We have one more tomorrow night for our Pearson Center Families and those that missed tonight. We brought our Mariachi Estrellas de FAYM and our FAYM Orchestra with us to let the families know what to get excited about!! We are really looking forward to starting classes next week!!

Congratulations to Isabella Drumm, this year's winner of the Audrey Bush Memorial Scholarship! Isabella is a student of Brycen Ingersoll and a graduate of the Las Vegas Academy of the Arts. She will begin her studies at the Colburn School of Music in Los Angeles this fall. All of us at FAYM wish her the best as she continues her journey to becoming a professional musician!! Our Story
Since its founding in 2007, FAYM has provided scholarship assistance for exceptional musicians to such fine institutions as the Eastman School of Music (Rochester, NY), the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University, the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, the Interlochen Arts Academy (Interlochen, MI) and Carnegie-Mellon School of Music (Pittsburgh, PA) for talented high school and university age musicians.
One of the Foundation's most important programs is its "Violins for Kids" project which provides two to three class lessons a week, instruments, materials, field trips, and a week long summer day camp for inner city youngsters (ages 10 -18) at minimal charge. Enrollment has grown from 15 to 200 with plans for further expansion in 2019-20
Administrative functions are performed by highly qualified volunteers. All legal, accounting, and other services are generously donated 'pro bono' by experts in their fields. Contributions, therefore, go entirely for program support, teaching faculty, and scholarship assistance for deserving and needy young musicians.
FAYM's programs have won recognition from the Clark County School District's Partnership Program, the Clark County Board of Supervisors, and such celebrities as virtuoso solo bassist Gary Karr, Teller (of Penn & Teller), superstar singer, Josh Groban, and Jamie Bernstein, daughter of renowned conductor/composer Leonard Bernstein.
