Today, we honor Reese, a courageous senior pitbull whose journey with us was both heartbreakingly brief and incredibly profound. Rescued from the brink of euthanasia, Reese arrived in our care skinny and limping, bearing the invisible scars of a life filled with challenges. Soon after, we discovered he was battling inoperable cancer in his back leg, a fight that foretold a limited time with us.

In the two weeks Reese was part of our sanctuary, we made every moment count. Our mission was clear: ensure he knew nothing but comfort, love, and the warmth of human kindness—luxuries he may not have known before. No dog, especially in their final chapters, deserves to face the end in the loneliness of a shelter.

Reese's passing was peaceful, filled with gentle words and tender touches, a dignified farewell that every creature deserves. 🕊️ His legacy reinforces our commitment to rescue, provide for, and cherish every senior dog, helping them to cross the rainbow bridge surrounded by love instead of solitude.

Furever Nevada Foundation was founded by Andrew, a passionate dog advocate who has witnessed firsthand the experience of senior dogs in shelter environments.

Senior shelter dogs (even the perfectly healthy ones) face a harsh reality. Not only are they overlooked for adoption, they can also be put down for a number of reasons, including lack of space and medical expenses that strain the resources of local shelters. In turn, their final moments are spent feeling scared and unsure in an often emotionless environment.

Andrew launched the Furever Nevada Foundation to give senior dogs a chance to live out their days in a home filled with love and dignity. Through his continued volunteer work, Andrew is inspired by the gratitude senior dogs show when they discover a new quality of life with humans who truly cherish them.
