Darn, I have had a lot to be smile about this week. Beautiful hike with granddaughter Gabby. Feeling like one of those trees that figured out how to grow out of a rock.

It’s still Hump Day and I am still happy.

Reflecting on last Friday’s lunch featuring , I am gratified by the company I get to keep.

When was the last time you smiled that much at a business lunch? How about we make smiling and laughing the new business protocol.

This post has so many pieces.
1) I came across a product in 2020 that was so great I still order a personal stock for my freezer so I am never out (www.MichellesMaccs.com). The photo in the post is some of the tempting product!
2) I think I ordered so many (for myself and everyone I knew during 2020!) that I developed a relationship with the creator, Michelle Goldberg.
3) This week, I received an email updating me on some major happenings in Michelle’s business. The email also included this comment about our work together.

If you think a mindful practice and a forgiveness practice have no place in business, think again. While you have some extra time this weekend, why not explore developing a practice that can work for you.

Hump Day is Happy

Just reflecting on yesterday. My taxi worked for another wonderful day outing. This time to celebrate — who too often is so busy taking care of everyone else she gets overlooked!

A psychiatric nurse at a VA Hospital, mom, daughter, sister, aunt, dog mom, friend and so much more. Worth a trip just to see her smile.

We got to go to which was where my love for beautiful food started oh so many years ago. Thank you Claire for making it happen.

It’s still Monday so this counts as my Gratitude Monday Memory!

If you are a business and wonder if posting on IG is helping, consider this. As you know from my feed I/we go to a lot. However, for a host of reasons we have not been there since early June. I did not even know they had closed to do refresh.

Then I saw a post from them, I was already planning to make a date with our beautiful friends, and magically all I knew where we would go.

Grateful for friends who appreciate the art of sending a postcard from their fabulous life adventures.

Feels good to know that when they are off having fun they thought of me/us. No matter the distance, we are in each others hearts.

Monday Gratitude Memories

Since last Wednesday when Dana and Arrow left, there have been so many additional gatherings — Table for 8, , a staycation with friends we made through business 35 years ago, and the closing ceremony of the Rev Marquita’s New Vision Center.

I decided to devote different posts to each event to allow me to luxuriate in all the love that was shared.

Our staycation was to honor the life of Carm Santoro who Richard met on the AST board in the around 1985. There were a lot of memories to share. Lucky for us, we never lost touch and Carm had many calls from Richard over the years. I realized that allowed us to stay focused on the love we shared for family, business and the highs and lows of life in general.

You will never regret reaching out and telling someone you love them.

Great restaurant owners and chefs in audience (yes, that is you ) and I found someone who loves Las Vegas more than me.

Listening to food critic describe everything my the Arts District restaurants to dive bars was the best. Not to be undone by whose general enthusiasm for life and food has me putting her restaurant (The Black Sheep) on our Table for 8 list!

The peace of the morning erases all the heat warnings. Was a perfect walk.

Made even more perfect as I remembered our Friday girls night out — and the best cucumber martini I have ever had.

It’s been a week! Lots of friends, Las Vegas sights, good food, and celebrations.

As it should be.

Be safe and stay cool if you are in Vegas.

California has earthquakes and fires.

North Carolina has bears.

Las Vegas has 110 degrees and air conditioning.

It has been a busy good week filled with a belated birthday celebration for at one of my favorite Table for 8 2024 winners . Owner Kim makes owning a restaurant look so fun (I know better, of course).

Then this month’s Table for 8 selection .taverna was enjoyed by fewer than 8 and was good enough for 100!

Easter was a hit no matter what the weather tried to do to us. 27 years in Las Vegas and hosting Easter at least half that time, this weather weekend was unique.

The ambiance at the Four Seasons brunch was greatly impacted but we did not let it interfere with our appetites!

Richard is one happy man being surrounded by almost of his tribe. Only daughter-in law Lu and her scattered tribe were not with us.

Easter, Beth’s birthday and Arrow and Jax meeting for the first time. A good weekend for all.

For me, having Fr.Joe start the day set the tone. He is one special teacher of the Gospels. Even if I think he watches too much news on tv!

No April Fools in this group.

Lots to be grateful for this Monday yet I want to focus on one event.

Yesterday our friends Jack And Cyndi Lou got married after being together for 19 years.

I keep reflecting on how cool it is to know where you have been is exactly where you want to be and want to go.

Table For 8 strikes again. This time we deviated from the winner of restaurant winners and instead enjoyed Amari Italian Kitchen at .lv Excellent deviation followed by ice cream from .

The other deviation? We forgot to take a photo! We did not, however, deviate from enjoying great conversation, learning about each other — all while eating wonderful food.
