Celebrating the art, history and architecture of Las Vegas I spent an April weekend with the folks of the Nevada Preservation Foundation and a ninth annual event, History + Home Las Vegas.

Join the Clark County Museum, 1830 South Boulder Hwy near the US 95, on Wednesday, June 12 at 6:30 p.m. for "Strange Tales from the Atomic Age," presented by the Atomic Museum's Director of Education, Matthew Malinowski. Learn the origin and evolution of atomic testing in the United States and hear stories from the hundreds of nuclear experiments and detonations conducted at the Nevada Test Site - less than a hundred miles from the glittering lights of Las Vegas. From unique weapon designs, desert craters, and bomb viewing parties to disappearing mannequins, the future of space travel, and the influence of nuclear science on pop culture, Malinowski will share fascinating anecdotes from our atomic universe. "Strange Tales for the Atomic Age" is a free community event!
