Random fun fact: When I was like 8 years old my sister took my Hershey's miniatures and I was soooo upset. I asked my mom to punish her, but she wouldn't. So I told my mom she had to replace my Hershey's miniatures. She wouldn't. So I decided my only recourse was to run away from home.

Mom helped me get the suitcase down from the closet. I packed my stuffed animals and a nightgown, and headed out the door. I got to the sidewalk, looked back and saw my sister waving goodbye to me with an evil "I won!" grin. I wasn't exactly sure where to go but darned if I was going to go home. So I went around the corner, climbed up into the foliage and settled into what I thought was my new home.

After about 15 minutes, and thanks to an errant bug crawling up my leg, I went home. I called my dad at work and said "Mom said to stop at the store and bring home some Hershey's miniatures for me, and ONLY me." Dad said "No problem, you got it." And justice was served.

I was re-reading one of my articles yesterday because I started thinking about what a powerful experience it was. In case you missed it (it's from 2020) I wanted to share it. It's about a woman's last night on Earth and what her spirit guides tried to do for her.

One of my readers asked me if deceased people care about their birthdays. Like does the deceased loved one want you to celebrate that day or do anything special.

The answer is that the dates are no longer important when we are on the other side, but that doesn't mean that honoring someone on a specific date isn't a good idea. Whether it's a birthday or anniversary or their death date, you focusing your love and attention on the deceased individual is going to call them to you. Communing with them at that time is lovely.

So if the day is special for you and helps remind you to take a moment to think about them, use those special dates. Otherwise, any day of the year works for them.

As I've gotten older I've realized how important personal relationships are. Having a friend walk with you through this life makes the victories sweeter, and the defeats endurable.

And old friends are so priceless. They know your story. They know how every thread was woven into your tapestry, and can see patterns that others can't.

And this speaks to one of my favorite quotes of all time.

"A good friend knows your song and can sing it back to you when you've forgotten the words."

Good, solid friends are priceless. They make the journey worth it.

Saw someone say this on a video yesterday and I like it:
