🛑 Slow Down and Pay Attention! 🛑

Just before 9:00 a.m. near Nellis and Desert Inn. Detectives believe a speeding blue sedan struck multiple other vehicles and crashed into oncoming traffic.

The driver of the vehicle that was observed to be speeding was pronounced deceased.

Multiple people in the other involved vehicles were taken to the hospital for treatment. This marked the 81st traffic-related fatality in our jurisdiction in 2024.

06/24/2024

This happened today in the Southeast Area! Please slow down pay attention on the road.

HERE’S YOUR WARNING!

As we approach July 4th, we are ramping up enforcement like you haven’t seen in previous years for illegal fireworks.

We are urging everyone to use approved, safe and sane fireworks to celebrate.

Purchasing and transporting fireworks into Clark County is illegal and we will have dedicated teams of officers ready to confiscate fireworks and fine violators.

Launching illegal fireworks that leave the ground is dangerous and can cause property damage and fires.

Fines start at $500.

To report illegal fireworks, do so at ispyfireworks.com

You light it, we write it!

Reminder!

Officials are reminding the public that the “You Light It, We Write It” inter-agency effort to crack down on the use of illegal fireworks in the Las Vegas Valley will resume over this year’s Fourth of July holiday.

As part of the “You Light It, We Write It” effort, the public is encouraged to report illegal fireworks complaints online at www.ISpyFireworks.com instead of calling 911 or 311.

Officials remind the public that 911 should only be used to report life-threatening police, fire and medical emergencies. The public may call 311, the police non-emergency number, to report illegal fireworks usage complaints but callers are asked to exercise patience, especially on busy nights like the Fourth of July, when dispatchers must prioritize emergency responses.

We are in the 100 DEADLIEST DAYS OF SUMMER!

Traffic fatalities, especially for teens, are often times at their highest rates during the summer months. Longs days and nights, no school, and summer parties can be a recipe for tragedy. Our LVMPD Traffic DUI Strike team is out on the roads keeping you safe. Don't make the dumb decision to drive impaired-- it's a deadly mistake.
This graphic was designed by LVMPD Officer Angela Suárez and her niece Noemí Rodríguez Suárez. Both wanted to do something about the deadly trends on our roads!
