#TeachLove with Boys Town

We teach kids who have been hurt how to love.
We teach kids who are angry, how to choose love over hate.
We teach them so much during their time at Boys Town, but when we #TeachLove, that is when the real change happens.
Join our Town and give these kids the stability, safety, and love that many have never known. https://bit.ly/TeachLove-withBoysTown

McKenna's Boys Town Story
Entering high school, McKenna felt lost and broken. She intentionally defied her family and continued to make bad decisions. Her issues grew beyond what her family could manage so they reached out to Boys Town for help. At Boys Town, McKenna learned the tools and built the confidence she needed to turn her life around. She graduated from high school and will enter college with a full-ride scholarship. More importantly, her relationship with her family has never been stronger. https://www.boystown.org/ways-to-give/support-our-kids

She Didn't Know How to Hug
Can you imagine not knowing how to give or receive a simple hug? The kids that come to Boys Town don’t have to imagine it. Neglect and abuse are common for our kids. Often the adults who were supposed to care for and guide them are absent, or worse yet, hostile. That’s why Boys Town has adopted the idea of #TeachLove. We get to work on day one showing these kids that life is different here at Boys Town. #ChildAbusePreventionMonth #ThrivingFamilies

Get to Know Father Flanagan
Father Flanagan was a true visionary of his time. His ultimate foundational value was the belief that all children can learn positive skills and behaviors and develop into productive citizens and family members if they receive sufficient training and experience, even if they have suffered unfortunate circumstances in their past. These principles and values are alive today, and are as relevant and applicable as they were when Boys Town first opened its doors more than a century ago. Get to know more about the man who founded Boys Town in this 5-day email series featuring photos and messages of insight and inspiration from Father Flanagan. https://bit.ly/4aBYJHi

Child Abuse Prevention
Every year, 4.3 million children are referred to child protection agencies. The United States has one of the worst records among industrialized nations, losing an average of five children a day to child abuse and neglect. That is why April is recognized as Child Abuse Awareness Month and communities nationwide dedicate their time to spread awareness of this alarming and ongoing problem. Throughout April, join Boys Town as we advocate for child abuse prevention.
