Galaxy Gaming knocked it out of the park for our Community Cat Action Fund this year, and we couldn’t be more thrilled! 🎉

In just one week, the amazing Galaxy Gaming, Inc. team raised an incredible $7,155 for our community cats! 😻 From fun competitions to pizza days and cat-themed relays, they really brought their A-game. 🐾🏅

At over 6 months old, this kitten is still quite tiny! 🐱 Found in a tunnel by a fast food joint, he has likely been malnourished his whole, short life, has had no caretaker, and has a bad eye ulcer that could easily grow worse quickly without medication. 💔

Lucky for him, he was trapped and brought to us for care. He’s been neutered, but will need some long-term treatment for that eye. Kim, his trapper, is going to be his absolute angel and make sure he gets what he needs, and potentially a rescue down the road! 🎉 Thank you for all you do, Kim. 🙏

We can’t wait for updates on this little dude! 👀

🐾 Meet Noon! 🐱 When we first met him this morning, he was a bit nervous—after all, the vet can be a little scary for some pets. But after a quick dose of premedication for his neuter, Noon did a complete 180! 😻

He quickly warmed up to our team, especially Kim, and turned into a total chatty lovebug. His mom wasn’t surprised—she said he’s just as vocal and affectionate after a little catnip! 🌿

Noon’s day didn’t just include some TLC. He was neutered and microchipped at an affordable price, and received a lifesaving FVRCP vaccine at no cost thanks to Petco Love's campaign. 🎉

Now, his mom can rest easy knowing he won’t contribute to the pet overpopulation crisis, the instinct to roam or mark will be gone, he’s not at risk of testicular cancer, and he will be protected from serious viruses—all in one visit!

And here’s the icing on the cake: with his new microchip, Noon is 19 TIMES more likely to find his way back home if he ever gets lost. 🏠

A huge thank you to Petco Love for their support, and to Noon’s wonderful mom for bringing him in and letting us care for this sweet boy. ❤️

Sad to say, these babies aren’t winking at us. 🐱 Eye discharge can be a sign of Upper Respiratory Infection (URI), a common issue among community cats, especially those in dense colonies. 💔

URIs in cats are similar to colds in humans, caused by viruses or bacteria. Symptoms can include sneezing, nasal discharge, coughing, and eye issues like the ones you see here.

We’re dedicated to not just spaying and neutering, but also improving the overall health of community cats. 🙌 If needed, we clean up these kitty faces and provide antibiotics to help them fight the infection. These cats are tough, but a little TLC goes a long way in making them more comfortable and helping them heal. 💙

💙 Remember Marceline? She first strutted into Heaven Can Wait through our Community Cat Clinic as a spicy kitty with a missing leg and a serious case of the sniffles (URI). But this lucky lady’s story took a wonderful twist!

We spayed her, then she was taken in by Amor Peludo, where she quickly became a foster fail to none other than our very own LVT Wendy! 🐾

These days, Marceline’s gone from straight-up spicy to Little Miss Chatterbox Cuddlepants and full-fledged Churu Addict! She’s a happy girl with a tiny attitude that matches her size, and she even lends a paw at our Wellness Clinic. 🐱

A huge thank you to Amor Peludo and Wendy for giving this sweet girl the second chance she deserves. It’s stories like Marceline’s that keep us inspired! 💕

Looks like Puti's hair isn't quite within military regulations today 😅 But no worries—she's all set after her spay and ready to report for snuggles when her family picks her up! 🫡

Thanks to our nonprofit’s low spay pricing and an extra active duty military discount, Puti’s ready for her next mission: finding the comfiest spot on the couch. 🐾💖

Today, our wonderful friends at Galaxy Gaming, Inc. came in for a very cool tour of our Community Cat Clinic, then helped us get some paper folding done for cat traps! We honestly had such a good time with this group.

Today, we celebrate our purrfect companions who fill our lives with love, laughter, and certainly mischief! 😺 Enjoy this kitty history lesson with some fun facts and share a picture of your favorite (are we allowed to HAVE a favorite?) feline in the COMMENTS! 👀

🤔 DID YOU KNOW cats were first domesticated in the Near East around 9,000 years ago when wildcats started hanging around ancient farming communities? Attracted by the abundance of rodents, they became natural pest controllers. Over time, these wildcats cozied up to humans, and the rest is history!

😸 FACT: Cats Have a "Second Nose", an extra organ called the vomeronasal organ, or Jacobson's organ, located on the roof of their mouth. This organ allows them to "taste" scents in the air!

😿 FACT: Cats often purr when they're content, but also when they're frightened, in pain, or trying to heal themselves. Purring at a frequency of 25-150 Hz is thought to help heal bones and tissues.

😻 FACT: Whiskers are more than just cute, they are highly sensitive, detecting the smallest changes in their surroundings. Whiskers help cats judge space and distance, making them essential for their hunting and climbing skills.

🙀 FACT: Cats sweat through their paw pads. This is why you might notice little wet paw prints on the floor during a vet visit or a particularly stressful moment.

😽 FACT: Cats lack the taste receptors for sweetness. This is because their ancestors were strict carnivores, and there was no evolutionary need for them to develop a taste for sugar. So, while your cat may beg for a bite of your food, they aren't actually after the sweet flavors!

We're thrilled to announce that we've been awarded a $1,000 grant from our local Sam’s Club on Craig Road and Losee Rd to support The Romeo Fund in our Spay & Neuter Clinic!

Our heartfelt thanks go out to facility 4974 for their incredible generosity and compassion for our community's dogs, cats, and their families.

With this grant, we can provide additional spay and neuter services to families on SNAP and Medicaid for just $10-$20! Grants like these help us provide low-cost neuters for families of pups like Atreus, here.

✨Friendly Reminder✨ A new ordinance starting August 1, 2024 says City of Las Vegas pet owners will need to microchip their cats and dogs who are over four months old, with some exceptions. 🐶🐱

Capulin, Ottis, and Kona are just 3 of the 37 pups we helped this week with spays, neuters, vaccines, microchips, and more! 💙

Microchipping can be done at either our Spay & Neuter Clinic or our Wellness Clinic. These three all received theirs during their procedures for just $40.

Did you know that Marilyn Monroe was an animal lover? While living in New York, she shared her home with Mitsou, a beautiful white Persian cat. 🤍

Little Leo was quite famous today at our Spay & Neuter Clinic. He provided nothing but tail wags and cuddles – an ideal patient! 🐾💕

In return, Leo received a high-quality neuter from us, plus free Petco Love vaccines as part of their Vaccinated and Loved Campaign! Over 2 MILLION vaccines have been given to pets in need of protection from dangerous diseases.

We didn’t just care for community cats today! 🐱 Here are some adorable sleepy faces of our sweet dog patients 🐶 waking up from their surgeries; Nyssa, Rosie, Perlita, and Luna. They all did wonderfully. 🌟

We’re grateful for the trust pet parents in our community place in us to care for their furry family members! ❤️

Here are some freshly tipped (and a little loopy from surgery) beauties that came to us today from all over the Las Vegas Valley for spay and neuter services at our Community Cat Clinic. 😻

These healthy cats will recover quickly and be back home in their colonies soon with their doting caretakers. 🙏 And now they have the classic ear tip look 🤩 they won't need to worry about being trapped for TNR again.

We know trapping can be a stressful experience, but not nearly as stressful as finding and fighting for mates or caring for a litter of kittens.

This is why we are SO proud to be working with our community to do what is best, and absolutely necessary, for these cats. 💙
